There are one or two people who really didn't get the gist of this thread.

Here, maybe this will help:

Warning: watching this video will actually make you dumber.

Funny, I don't feel dumber, but I didn't watch to the end. Oh, and God bless yoga pants.
Ditto here. I got about 1/2 way through the second cut before remembering I could go watch some paint dry.

This is a big standard not to be equal, don't you think?
I'll not go down that road. I just stated the facts.
You will think what you want.

Of course you won't go down that road. Because the conclusion is if physical standards are kept at a HIGH standard then 99% of females couldn't make it. Lower standards, lowers the quality.

I think a lot of this has to do with how boys are brought up, and not instinctively knowing how to do do certain "guy stuff" is seen as a sign of weakness, which is of course not acceptable so boys learn how to fake it. This of course carries over to adulthood, and manifests itself as you described. Girls are allowed to not know that stuff, so it's OK for them to ask a not-so-stupid question.
I agree. This is part of the reason that I have always been more comfortable in a tutoring situation over instructing a group. I limit my groups to 5 or 6 kids, give them some instruction that might include demonstration, then let them work until I see someone needs individual help.

I am not always successful, but it has been said that 7 minutes should be about longest you should go on the instruction phase before you go to the doing phase. 7 minutes is the shorter of the attention spans of many kids.

More than once have I been in a work-related class where there was some concept basic to the whole big picture I didn't understand. In my younger days I would've just pretended to understand it and hope it would become obvious, but as I've gotten older I'm more inclined to speak up and ask that it be explained.
Most of us have been there. Most often it is a guy thing, and sometimes it affects both sexes, where you don't want to be embarrassed in front of your peers.
