I am a Ham Operator let me know if I can help! Licensing is much easier now with no Morse Code requirement. Is there something specific about the hobby you are interested in?

Thanks for the reply, I was actually a HAM operator back in the late 60’s. First licensed in 66 or 67. I made it to Amateur Advanced Class but let it expire when I discovered cars and girls

I’m just studying for the Technician Class license now. Will try and get the General license later this year.
Actually the CW Morse code was what I really enjoyed the most when I was operating. If I have any questions I will definitely reach out

Sounds good you will find out there are many digital modes now that involve a sound card and a PC connected to your radio. I am mostly involved in Emergency Comms side of radio.

I was going to install the meter today, but I think it will wait until the daytime temperatures get into the 60s.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 54° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 74° with mix of sun and clouds. .79" of rain yesterday. Got a haircut yesterday. That was about all I got done. Today I plan to cut rest of the grass.
Got a call from GD. She had her baby. 4th Great Grandchild. Tyler was born yesterday at 9:30 pm.

rain, normal Spring weather.

60 this morning high in 70s rain showers tomorrow and Friday not a big chance but we need all we can get. Holly gets upset at night about dinner time. Going to see doctor in week and half probably needs adjustment in medicine.

Work called yesterday so it looks like that’s where I’m going today
My lawn is about 6” high and everything is soaked so I may as well work

GM Steve, yes everything is completely different than it was 50 years ago or longer. I’m going to try and take the test this Saturday, wish me luck.
Back in the day I did traffic messaging on 80 meters. I’m really not sure what I want to get involved with now, I’m taking that aspect slow for now. Thanks for your kind reply. Wow, the rules and frequency allocations are all different now

45 this morning going back to the mid 70s under clouds

Thanks BEF! Do you think the surface washer would do on deck boards. I really should resurface my deck and thought about using one I never took out of the box.
Nothing but bridge yesterday. Spent the day washing dirt and sand out of the rubble I put in and filling in any gaps I could find. Also re setting some of the larger rocks. Back breaking at best. That was it. Probably more of the same today. Getting there but it's slow going.

Time for a second cup

Mine came with different nozzles, I used what was installed. For wood deck you sure want to keep it moving, I’d be afraid of eating wood.
I did hit my porch swing with PW. And it still left marks though I tried to keep moving.

51F cloudy day low 60's for high rain arriving afternoon least to early evening.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Critter had little fun rolling new metal burn barrel in the yard last night.
Plans for today...dump run than couple stops for this and that,place 4 metal post around the burn barrel couple times around good heavy wire tight should keep it in places.

Well Take the General test while you are there it doesn't cost any extra and you can at least see what you are up against. I am a VE and when we suggest they take the General test also we have about a 50% that pass that one as well even without studying! Good Luck Sir!
