Looked over some of the electrodes on hand for stick welding and found that I have a lot more than I thought. 150 lbs of E6010 1/8, 3/32 inch, 50 lbs of 7018 5/32 inch, some E6013 and E6011 1/8 inch. Most of it is in sealed tin cans and supposedly should be good without attracting hydrogen.
PopG would it be worthwhile to get a rod oven to be able to use them after being open to atmosphere. Maybe for my limited use it does not make much difference since it is not be a certified weld

66°F and .22 inches rain

Friends concrete pour went fairly well yesterday. 3rd truck was a bit late but should be ok

My life still a bit disjointed with Sophie gone, but really due to one over exuberant little boxer girl. She is still small enough to slip through the stiles of the house (pool) fence giving her access to about 6 acres but more importantly access to a couple of places she could escape the property altogether. Yup, that has happened with prior pups and those areas addressed, they or others reappear but get ignored as the pups get too big. The most worrisome is the area under the main gate. So far she has been really good and the boys watch out for her but she has also started venturing out alone without the boys. Of course I refuse to confine her and the boys to the area where safe just so I can be elsewhere on the property. They already are confined there when I leave the property. So I am “forced” to limit my activities to our inner area. Not that expected anyone to feel sorry for me, Sophie just laughed. Oh well, she is so cute and fun.

My eye appointment this morning. Hope I don’t get dilated as I have to drive home.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day.

I would get some of these to store them in after opening.

They would keep for a long time if you put them right in after opening the tin.

morning meeting went well, I had forgotten wife can draw a small retirement at end of year from her few years of work long long ago..won't be much, but might pay for a meal out once a month.
76deg and humid out, storms coming this way this afternoon.
Wife took pebbles to get her nails done (trimmed).
ground too muddy for deck work, and will get muddier later. Got framing to do now, only have part of the lumber.

Prayers needed guys.

Eight Firefighters in a remote northern Alberta town became trapped last night as wildfires closed in on communities across the province, forcing thousands to evacuate.

The 8 Firefighters were forced to shelter in place and are waiting for rescue as the fire moved toward Chipewyan Lake, about 450 kilometers north of Edmonton.

The Firefighters were responding to a wildfire when they temporarily lost radio contact just after 8 p.m. Attempts are being made to rescue the members, but the smoke and fire conditions are hindering those attempts.

I got this one a few years ago. My welding usage has diminished considerably in the last couple of years.
After I open a box or tin of 7018 I store them in the containers show above. When I know that I have some welding coming up I'll fill the rod oven and let it run overnight to warm up and dry the rods.
My 6011 I just keep the rod holders closed up and they work well.
6011 and 7018 are the rods I mostly use and a small amount of 6013. The 7018 is the only one that seems to benefit from being dry.
That said when I know that I'm going to need a specialty rod, stainless or nickle or hard facing I'll try to get them in the rod oven over night. Not sure if it's needed but it makes me feel better.
