Scott, I bought it for 2500 with all the attachments, cultivator and fertilizer hopper (which I never used)
probably put 4 grand into it with new clutch, tires, complete refresh mechanically, though I never painted it.
sold it for 2500...
somewhere between 2500 and 4000 seems to be the range, depending upon what else is available locally.

I'm afraid selling an open old tractor with a snow plow today would only appeal to the very hardy.
everyone wants a heated cab....
even Bill.

today's compact tractors are so handy from a functional standpoint they make the old stuff seem crude and uncomfortable.
unless you have plenty of garage space and like to do parades, best use for A/Super A
with cultivators might be to sell it to a Maine or Long Island potato farmer to play with.
or maybe a struggling CSA that needs to cultivate veggies.

that tiny straight four engine makes a wonderful purr that deepens under load, very smooth, ecological nightmare dripping oil here
and there from every gasket, and the exhaust was none too clean, but it would settle down and just work.
loudest straight cut gear transmission I ever heard. Constantly thought something was broken. Nope.

Good Morning
A sunny 52° out there with a high in the middle 60’s at best, but sunny all day.
A welcome change from the preceding grey days that brought 1-1-2” of rain.
Way too wet to do anything outside.

Yesterday was spent working on the shed. A trip to HD for almost $300 in material (admittedly including a tub of screws and a couple of tubes of silicone) started the day. I used the material to build shelves for tubs of alpaca wares that are presently cluttering my shop. I’ll probably have to do the same thing on the other side, but we’ll see how these work first.

Not much planned for today, I should figure out the lighting for the shed, and ought to take advantage of the nice day to aim the little plane somewhere for lunch.

Morning all, 58 going to 70 and sunny.
Worked on the saws yesterday and then took one down to cut up that big maple branch lying in my lower field.
Some shopping and dinner out, kept it under $100 (it helps to keep costs down since I don't drink)
Lower field is a swamp, which made it less fun to clean up after using the saw.
Not sure what will happen today, probably take the dog for a walk somewhere.

Did clean pool robot again, less messy this time. Getting there.
Still need to powerwash pool and lower deck area.

Be well,

Good morning TBN!!

60 this morning and going to 80 with afternoon Tstorms.
Took it easy yesterday. Kinda in limbo while I wait to get the old tank out of the river. Made a half hearted attempt on my own but with the way it needs to be manipulated coming out I just can't do it. Square peg round hole kinda thing.
Nothing planned for today. I have a tree across my trail that blocks the 4 wheelers so may go cut that out so I can check the rest

Already had a second cup and breakfast.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

nice rose Ken!
man after my own heart, rose wise.

waiting for pack of spinach seeds to show up so I can replant parts of garden.
figure I can do one crop before it gets too hot.
hard to believe forecast is for 93 in three days.

went out and scraped some window frames that were peeling, the ones not vinyl clad.
found one with rotted wood, it's a goner. I gently suggested to landlord, after sending pic of rot, that instead
of a window they replace it with a door. No door to back yard on this cottage. Sure would be nice...and I could finally have a normal
deck out back.
bought a quart of exterior white Moore paint for 29 bucks.
wasn't that what a half gallon used to cost a few years ago?

very pretty outside, headed back out.

Drew, from 1995 until 2011 I plowed with an open station Farmall C. Had a tarp that covered the grill and went down under the pan covering both sides and terminating at the rear fenders. Tarp served to keep the engine warm and helped keep my feet and lower legs warm too.
It had a 12 volt battery to spin the 6 V starter, but when junior had his girlfriend and her two boys (13 & 9) living here I took the starter off and covered the hole. Started it with the crank. The kids never went near it to the best of my knowledge, because of the hand starter. Turned the timing back about 2 degrees and it started easily for me, even in the coldest temperatures. It was supposed to do about 16 mph wide open, but I dialed the governor back and it would only do 12 mph. Plenty fast enough for me. Had a set of skidder chains on it. Way too big for the rubber it had, but the price was right on the chains.
Do I miss it? NO!
