Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 61° going to a high of 76°, clear and sunny until the weekend.
A slow weekend, Spent most of a rainy Saturday not doing much of anything. Sunday, dragged my campground owning friend up to the property to do a proper walkover. It's not perfect, but good enough. Views over the mountains, a few boggy spots, the power right of way isn't as bad as it was made out to be, next door neighbors are a ski community and the 17 acres I was originally interested in. Looks like there's already a good level spot for a house. If I were a rich man, I'd buy both plots, but sadly I am not. We also discovered this massive maple tree that's on the way out, friend for scale:
If trees could talk, that one could certainly tell some stories.
I'm trying to get the offer letter in my grubby little hands so I can look over it before submitting, but I'm still waiting on the realtor. Farm Credit approved me fortunately and I need to talk to them about a building loan for the house. I'm thinking either Log Home or Modular. Will need to look into a fairly heavy duty brush hog for this land too, as it's again the remnant of an old hay field that's already being started to be reclaimed by the forest. I'm thinking borrowing a post hole digger to put trees in along the property line...again, I'm getting ahead of myself. Haven't even bought the place yet, but I am excited about this place. So cross your fingers for me!
Goals for this week: Finalize offer letter, look for some modular homes, survive work week, continue mowing.
Prayers for all ailing and recovering, also praying you guys in the Great White North get those awful fires under control. I really do hope we (USA) are sending mutual aid, It's a well known fact Canadian water bombers regularly fight fires out West here in the States.
Y'all stay safe out there and be well! Enjoy the week!
