Good morning!!!!

Grass was so wet from dew yesterday, decided to use the cool morning for a hike and swim for Della. On the trail, saw the Portuguese Water Dog, Kai, so had some good play time. Then split and stacked my last load of firewood. Should have quit after that, but got the big 60V battery out for the string trimmer and went at it. No energy left.
Glad to hear Della is back in action.

Scotty, it takes a while to grow a thumbnail back. Did you drill a micro hole to relieve the pressure? Ouch.

Popgadget, hope you didn't cut off too much with the peeler.

Buppy's prayers for Holly and getting your equipment going.

Ron, great pics. Love the cranes and flowers. Poor husband duck, hopefully his mate will go easy on him. Some of that morning cool air sounds good.

Hot 94F and HUMID. Sweat like a pig in just a minute outside. Wifey is cooking inside, so A/C is having to work overtime.

Our grass is growing fast.

ran some errands including dropping off some CalMag fertilizer to Ken for his garden, and getting to glide
down his beautiful smooth lane in the woods. Then it was off to check on the roses, fun to see new ones come in.
I did find two icebox watermelon plants to finish off the garden, but decided that was a job for tomorrow morning.
Going to be lazy this afternoon.
I might even go out and smell the roses, again... ;)

Last fall I built a platform for the BH for overwintering. Today I moved it to its' new home, beside the fuel tank. Put the wood conveyor in the spot the BH was and the wood bucket in front. The wind picked up (10-15 mph) so I didn't feed the flies or fell any trees. Had fly dope (A mixture of Witch Hazel, Lavender oil, Tea Tree oil and Eucalyptus oil) on anyway. I works better than OFF with its Deet. Fueled the tractor when I got done.

they say pigs are very clean animals, until you get them near a mud hole.
now you inhabitants of the rust belt know all about pigs.
the ones that rust, not roll in mud:

Iron Smelting:
.
In the past, molten iron, after being poured into molds, would form into shapes that resembled a sow and her piglets. This type of iron was called pig iron.
Dew Point and Moisture: .
  • As the pig iron cooled, the surrounding air would reach its dew point, causing water vapor to condense on its surface, forming droplets. This condensation was referred to as "sweating".
  • "Sweating Like a Pig":
The phrase "sweating like a pig" evolved to describe this phenomenon, referring to the iron cooling and forming moisture on its surface.

so it's correct to say you are sweating like a pig. Just not the type that goes oink.

thomas you've been working hard on that firewood. Get it all nice and dry and organized by time October comes.
stacking firewood can be fun, how do you handle the lumpy ones and oddballs without weakening the stack.
And of course you can't put too many round ones by themselves as they tend to roll off the top
stacking firewood out in the open without end supports takes some skill I never quite mastered.
I always looked for a tree on one end at least.

Bill try not to be fly chow.
Wood cut 14" split down 8"dia, if odd pieces slit again.
Level ground thick hardwood pallets wood to stack on 6' high, if by chance back into stack wood it doesn't move (y) on stack job.

Thomas if the national weather service is watching you they will be forecasting the worst winter in history with all the wood you are putting up😊
I have feeling soon northeast going to have old fashion winter...freezer full, fuel for generator tractor, critter food stock up etc. just hunker down as they say.

I used to prep real good, didn't last year and my salted sand pile got froze so hard I couldn't break through the crust with the loader :(
Not again, if it ever dries out abit. I'll get some more salt to top dress the pile with and then get it covered.
