Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 65° to a high of 85°, cloudy, drizzly, wet to thunderstorms. We need the rain, but the grass is growing out of control.

Sadly, my offer was rejected. "Too many contingencies and wanted a cash sale." I don't know about y'all, but I don't know of many people who will pay 164k cash in hand for 16 acres without a perc test. If it won't perc, it's useless to me. Oh well, there's a place out there somewhere for me. Just have to keep looking! Thanks for the prayers and well wishes!

Other than that bit of disappointing news, the weekend went well. Rested and recovered from the week to prepare for this one. Did a little tractoring to scoop up some tanbark to help bed in a new tree. Grapple will be needed whenever the rain stops as there's some cuttings that need to be removed and a large branch fell in the back of the property blocking a path. Ran into Lowes to do some looking for a father's day present for the old man. Walked out with a mini-sledge and a hatchet for my own tool collection. (Will need to go to HD as they stock the brand he wanted)

Boss is on vacation this week, so it's just me manning the fort. If today is any indication, let's hope it stays slow and sedate. Might still look into that Brushbull since the parents shove off on Thursday to go see the US Open in Pittsburg and cuddle with the nephew. But time will tell. It would be pretty nice to have to pull behind my Kubota instead of using the old Ford.

Goals for this week: Survive this week by myself, Get some grapple work done as well as the remainder of the mowing, Look into the Brushbull some more.

Prayers for those ailing and recovering!
Y'all stay safe and dry out there and enjoy the week!

Morning all, 61 going up to 69 and cloudy.
Started raining yesterday after noon, by then I had pulled many pounds of stiltgrass from front ornamental grass beds.
Mowed three of the little fields.
Trimmed all the bushes in front and pulled many feet of vines growing in the bushes.
Cleaned out the trinmmings from one area, but rain and exhaustion prevented me from raking out the larger front area.
Still need to trim all the bushes in the back yard.

Son takes last final today and graduates Thursday.

Dr. appt later

Nice having the larger deck on the mower and some more speed. I find myself still mowing the old smaller pattern sometimes, old habits die hard

Be well,

Many pounds of stiltgrass and creeping charlie removed.
This ornamental grass started to shoot and then we had that little ice storm and it has been struggling. Then the stiltgrass which I am sure is not helping.

FWT, that seems to be a high price for that neck of the woods. I have always wanted a perc test for any land I have bought. In MD, for it to be advertised as a "lot", it needs a perc and well already existing, otherwise it's "land" for sale. Even then, I want a perc.

The neighbour that I plow for food texted me this morning, there was a bear cub on her porch. I told her to call the cops. They are the ones that enforce the law that we cannot have bear spray, so they can look after the problem. Don't know if she did or not.

Good Morning
It’s 62°, grey and damp. Decreasing POP as the day goes on. Not going to warm up much.

Yesterday was grey as well, rain held off for party, which was a success. DIL did a lot of creative decorating outside, she recruited me to help figure out how to make things go together according to her vision. Everything was home made, and worked out well, even the Jurassic park sign.

I did get the final bit of mowing done with the Lazer, but with one bit of drama. When I engaged the PTO, the bades seemed like they tried to start, but then nothing. A quick investigation showed that the clutch engaged properly, but it threw the belt off.
Further investigation showed that the belt was fine, and that there was no obvious reason for it to have come off. I reinstalled it and it seems to be fine.

Here’s what the grandson’s party looked like.

Today started with breakfast with the professor, we once more failed at solving the world’s problems, but successfully identified a few.

Not sure what I’ll get into today, perhaps I’ll tear off the bedroom window trim and replace it. The new pieces are all cut and finished, ready to get put in place.

Nice party Popgadget.

Wife and I were discussing building raised gardens. They problem I see with most, they are only a foot or two high, which is probably worse on my back than on the ground. Also discussing what material to use to build them.

5:00 am and enjoying my Kona coffee again, listening to a Kauai day awaken. Spent a chunk of the day yesterday at the beach. The water was great, and it was relaxing as we still shake the jet lag. Heading to Haena State Park today.

69F, wet, and overcast @ 12:30. That should be the high for the day.

Line of showers/thunderstorms off to the northwest headed this way, rained earlier.

Might see some peeks of Sun before it sets today.

Looks like we should have 4 decent rain-free days starting tomorrow.

Yesterday was a pretty lazy day but did get a few things done.

Worked on going through and cleaning out old papers with The Woman.

Got a bill scheduled for payment.

Set up access on one account.

Used the shredder for the first time to shred some optical media, worked well.

Have a snotload more paper shredding to do, unclear if we'll do it here given the amount of time it would take.

Cleaned out the 5 gallon crock from the sauerkraut fermentation earlier this year, Woman was impressed with that ... for a variety of reasons ...

Went through the recycables and married up the bottle tops with the bottles. Recyclables will need to go up to the can today along with the trash as this is recycle week.

Installed the new set of Iron Laces into the new boots. Pretty impressed with those: the old set is still holding up well in the old pair.

Further clean up in kitchen on agenda for today.

Probably work on more cleaning and straightening up out in the garage.

Other than that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent day ... (y)

I called the gas station and they said they were almost done, a real challenge getting other parts out of the way.
nice that owner will drive my car home to me and I can drive him back to the station.

also good news about my Gravely at the NY mountain cabin. My friend's son got the pto clutch engagement adjusted and had a great time mowing his mile long grass lane.
