71°F and .06 inches rain.

New hardware installed on the doors. Need the pickup a new razor blade scraper. Guess it has been years since buying single edge blades.

Homemade sliders at neighbors a treat. She makes really good kimchi too.

Need to make a PO run and dump.

Happy Hour in town this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning
It’s 62°, grey and damp. Decreasing POP as the day goes on. Not going to warm up much.

Yesterday was grey as well, rain held off for party, which was a success. DIL did a lot of creative decorating outside, she recruited me to help figure out how to make things go together according to her vision. Everything was home made, and worked out well, even the Jurassic park sign.

I did get the final bit of mowing done with the Lazer, but with one bit of drama. When I engaged the PTO, the bades seemed like they tried to start, but then nothing. A quick investigation showed that the clutch engaged properly, but it threw the belt off.
Further investigation showed that the belt was fine, and that there was no obvious reason for it to have come off. I reinstalled it and it seems to be fine.

Here’s what the grandson’s party looked like.

Today started with breakfast with the professor, we once more failed at solving the world’s problems, but successfully identified a few.

Not sure what I’ll get into today, perhaps I’ll tear off the bedroom window trim and replace it. The new pieces are all cut and finished, ready to get put in place.
Looks like it was quite the shindig.

The reloading of rocks for the dry river bed is complete. Just in time the heat is on. 90˚F heat index of 101˚ after the early morning rains dumped 0.73".

Wife and I were discussing building raised gardens. They problem I see with most, they are only a foot or two high, which is probably worse on my back than on the ground. Also discussing what material to use to build them.
Many vegetable growers learning towards something like water tank...many different width lengths colors.

seen some with tanks.
I did buy a couple small raised planters, have mint growing in one. And some onions growing next to the house. Wife wanted something lot bigger for strawberries. Seen Youtube videos of people pouring larger ones with concrete panels, bolting them together.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 7.5C and it's presently 12.4C, mostly overcast with a stiff breeze. There was 17.3mm in the gauge @ 0900 with more showers predicted.

With all of this most welcome rain, nothing is planned. Besides that it's a holiday today; The King's Birthday... which isn't his actual BD but is the 'official' BD. Anyway, it's a day off for most and one of two days when "Honours" are gazetted. (Once again, I didn't receive an Order of Australia Medal 😐)

That's about it, take care all.
Similar to you and Don, we had 17.78mm. Unexpected.

Ron still amazed that pileateds come to your feeders. Like you and Buppies, we had our first fawn spotting last week. A pair were doing zoomies in our field as their mom watched. One was especially energetic, bucking like a bronco and then head butting its sibling.

My wife's dad had 6 brothers and sisters...the last of the siblings, my wife's aunt passed away last week, and we drove to near Burlington, NC for the funeral yesterday. It was good seeing my wife's relatives, and I had a good long discussion with the minister about church history and politics.

Our washing machine drain seems to be clogged, so will work on that today, and get Della some exercise since she stored up a lot of energy while we were gone for 10 hours yesterday.
Billy, condolences to your wife and family. Hard to lose the last of a generation. my mom is the last of 4 siblings, and she has only 2 nieces and 1 nephew left out of what used to be 8.
1 of her nieces really dotes on her, since she has lost all of her family, both parents, 2 sisters and a brother.

good morning all
going to be a cool cloudy day
my night didn't go well
woke up at 1am dizzy and with the sheets soaked.
could hardly turn my head was so dizzy.
pretty sure something I ate disagreed with me because had to go to
bathroom three times this morning. Now feeling a little better after taking a shower.
going to try to eat some yogurt to settle my stomach.
and I sure can't blame it on my SIL's meatballs last night. I think.
combo of something I ate triggering my vertigo.
Drew, you may have had a vaso vegel. I get them from over eating sodium or salt. I take an extra 1/2 of a BP pill if I feel I ate too much salty food.
Common symptoms of vasovagal syncope include:

  • Feeling weak, shaky, or unsteady: This can be a precursor to fainting.

  • Nausea: A common symptom before or during a faint.

    • Dizziness or lightheadedness: A sense of being disoriented or about to lose consciousness.
    • Blurred vision or tunnel vision: Vision may narrow or become blurry.
    • Skin color changes: Pale or flushed skin can be a sign of changing blood flow.
    • Increased heart rate (initially) or slowed heart rate (during the episode): The heart's rhythm can change as the body reacts.
    • Sweating or clammy skin: Excessive sweating can be a symptom.
    • Feeling warm or cold: Temperature regulation can be affected.
    • Loss of consciousness (fainting): A brief period of unconsciousness due to reduced blood flow to the brain.

The birthday cake got finished off today. Wifey curtailing my sweets and extracuricular snacking...(she really loves me afterall) She's been making me smoothies with chia seeds, I teased her I'm going to be her chia pet. She didn't laugh at my corny humor. :)

Ron, great photo. Love the way those things look. Have a small population of them down here. We did have a pair of painted buntings hanging out at our feeder and birdbath. If I find out our cat got to them....I'm gonna put some tape on her feet...

Popgadget, big party looks fun!

Bought a used ryobi/honda gas pressure washer from neighbor. Guess I should test it out before they move.
