hey guys

I am looking at getting a trailer to haul my New Holland TV145 and a few other pieces of equipment.
I believe it weighs around 18k lbs. My other tractors require a very gradual approach angle to load onto a trailer. Those ones weigh around 7500 lbs each

I have tried loading my low profile tractors on a gooseneck with a dovetail and mega ramps however the approach angle was too steep.

Would a gooseneck trailer like the Diamond C with a 12' Hydraulic Dovetail provide a gradual enough angle to load the low profile tractors or do I need to a true Landoll, Trail King Hydraulic setup?

Curious what kind of low profile tractors you have, I have never seen a tractor that was to low to load via mega ramps and dovetail.

They are snow blower tractors, the blower only lifts about 10 inches off the ground.
The brand is Trackless we run them with 8 foot wide blowers

I’d buy a low profile tilt trailer to haul those and a second trailer for the larger tractor. I’ve had no issues loading rollers, lawnmowers or cars on the tilt deck without scraping. The approach angle of that is probably half what my mega ramp GN is. The other option that’s probably cheaper than a landoll is a paver trailer.

Makes sense now. I have a Kaufman gravity hydraulic tilt deck 16' tilt and 6' fixed with 2-8k axles and 17.5 super single tires that has 13,600 lbs of deck capacity and I believe you wouldn't have any trouble loading your low profile snowblower tractors on.

I have the issue loading my Kubota L3800 w/backhoe onto my Loadtrail car hauler 20' with megaramps. The lower boom pivot on the backhoe hits the ground. My solution is to park the trailer where I can dig a slight depression in the ground for the boom pivot to clear when loading/unloading. PITA actually.

I had the problem when I had a 20' PJ deckover with pull-out ramps. So, I sold the PJ and bought the Loadtrail, figuring problem solved. I like the Loadtrail better, but I was really surprised I had the same issue with the dovetail and megaramps. Makes me wonder how shallow of an angle I'd actually need.

I think the problem is if I read his post correctly it weighs 18,000 pounds. Is that getting into semi and low boy territory?

yeah, the new holland weighs about 18k lbs.

The Trackless Mt6s with the snowblower weigh about 7500 lbs

My issue is the load angle for the Trackless Mt6s the snowblower hits the ramps.

Im not sure if the gooseneck hydraulic tilt 12 foot ramps would allow me to load the snowblower tractors or if I have to go into semi trailer territory.

A lowboy doesn't work well for the Mt6s because they are only 4 feet wide. The tractors are too narrow to utilize the flip down ramps.

I use a 32' PJ low pro hydraulic dovetail to haul my antique fire truck. The load angle is less steep than ramps and if needed you can put the machine on the ramp and then raise the loaded ramp to get the machine onto the main part of the trailer.

I love the trailer and it is much easier to load/unload than other trailers I owned that used ramps.

The downside is the cost of these has gone through the roof with a well equipped unit costing $25K +.

If you think this is the way to go get the dealer to bring you one to try out with your equipment.

One other bit of advice; When I bought my trailer I looked at a 30 footer. The salesman talked me out of it because he claimed it rode much rougher than other lengths due to the axle placement in relation to the hitch. Don't know if its true, but I'd "try before I buy" if that is what you are looking at.

I ended up basically stealing the trailer from a guy who was closing out a company that owned the trailer when I offered him an all cash deal. It's probably the only thing with wheels that I ever bought that I could double my investment on because of what I paid versus what they are going for today.
