I bought a 474 in June as well. Currently shopping for oils for my 50hr change. Having trouble finding a hydraulic oil i like locally. Bought the full filter kit from my dealer and found the same kit online for half the price from dealer in Colorado. Shop around before you buyDecided I wanted to get back into a HST transmission Tractor. Went with a new TYM T474 HC…..View attachment 3539959
Had the dealer load the rear tires, add a plug-in block heater, and the 3rd function kit down the loader. Should make for a comfortable, year round work horse.
Who else has one of these or the 494/574?

I have a 2024 474 w/ cab. 138 hours. No regen thus far. Only issue I've had was a the valve that opens for heat/AC failed and the dealer replaced it. It was dripping red fluid from above the cab onto the floor steering wheel and floor .Said very unusual repair. The heat works well and so does the AC. I'm considering wheel spacers to widen the rear stance 3" on each wheel for more stability. Otherwise a lot of tractor for $$$$.Decided I wanted to get back into a HST transmission Tractor. Get Brotek spacers, they are the best bang for the $$$, I put 1.5 spacers mostly to make room for chains in the winter. But added 3'' overall.I have a 2024 474 w/ cab. 138 hours. No regen thus far. Thanks for the heads up on the valve leak. Will watch for it. Spacers will probably affect warranty and will put more load on bearings.I have a 2024 474 w/ cab. 138 hours. No regen thus far. So far I've not heard of that, and VERY few tractors have hub problems on the rear. Thanks for the heads up on the valve leak. Will watch for it. Spacers will probably affect warranty and will put more load on bearings.
Some days I wish I had gone a little bigger. Some days I miss having a backhoe. But it’s mowing well and doing light duty loader work well. So far, so good.Looks like a great tractor!![]()
I considered a backhoe, but iirc, it was an additional $7k-11k. That's a lot of mini-ex rentals. Some days I wish I had gone a little bigger. Some days I miss having a backhoe. But it’s mowing well and doing light duty loader work well. So far, so good.
I’ve had my T474 a couple of months now. It is used for logging. I don’t know if there is anything more demanding on a tractor - moving heavy logs, pulling stumps, running a chipper. I’ve learned I need to be easier with it than I was on the John Deere. I’ve already bent the loader mounts, but they have been replaced with new ones and reinforced.Decided I wanted to get back into a HST transmission Tractor. What JD model did you compare it to?I’ve had my T474 a couple of months now. It is used for logging. I still have the JD 3320R. It's a low HP tractor for it's frame and the T474 is a high HP tractor for it's frame. What JD model did you compare it to?
One hour and ten minutes to dealer. Closest one. Hate to drive down there to find we haven’t figured it out yet. Or had to order parts and waiting on them. I would think they would at least get ahold of me and keep me apprised after they couldn’t get it back to me on Monday or Tuesday afternoon like they said. Give me some information. I called during business hours and their answering machine says they are with other customers. And to send a text to this number…….. I followed the directions and they don’t even respond to me. The owner seems like a great guy. I don’t get it. I don’t depend on my tractor for income. But what if I did? And that shouldn’t matter. It’s nearly new.If its not a long haul to the dealership maybe stop in to speak with someone. I will say that depending on what all they sell and service, september and October is usually busy season for outdoor power. Hopefully they prioritize warranty repairs though...
It would be nice to know what they have tried and not tried. I can’t get a response from them. This is a smaller dealership, compared to the big ones, but they sell a good amount of TYM tractors. Have techs who contact TYM tech support for troubleshooting, etc. Owner seems like a great guy. I just can’t believe it. With this low of hours. That blows. Odd as that engine doesn't have a derate built into the ECM as far as I know. This is just simple mechanical injection. So, it isn't a limp mode or sensor. Fuel?
