I think many people have no experience with skid steer controls and fear them.

I suppose. Whenever I see new controls for something, especially when I was a kid, all that runs thru my mind is, "I gotta try that!"

I was also the kid who had so many ER visits for broken bones, that the nurses used to joke about just keeping my file out on the counter, to be ready at all times. :D

The first time I ran my zero-turn, I only ran over one shrub.
Prior owner of my house left the 757 ZTrak in the barn for me. First time I fired it up, I figured there was a 50/50 chance I was going to run into a door jamb on the way out of the building. :ROFLMAO:

Fast forward a year, and I could have done ballet on the thing. I can't imagine there's a more intuitive machine on earth with such a combination of nimble movement and speed. I zip along everything from cedar siding to stucco walls at learly full speed, with not more than an inch or two to spare, with confidence. I don't think I could do that with a zero-steer system.

Back in 1998, I bought a front mount Woods (rebranded Grasshopper). I proceeded to go over a slight slope which plunged me and the controls forward which sped up the mower which kept me in the seat which compelled me to always fasten the seatbelt.

Yep. Zero turn, as in two levers. Not Zero Steer, as in steering wheel.

You just turn the steering wheel, instead of pushing/pulling lap bars. The steering wheel is linked to the front wheels and also provides inputs to hydro-motors on each rear wheel identical to your lap bar machine. Actually has more positive control since the front wheels can't wander. Don't see why that seems so difficult . . .

(This is the Cub Cadet version I'm describing. Can't speak to the EGO version.)
