Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 0.7C and it's presently 15.5C, clear & calm. There was 0.7mm in the gauge @0900.

Grocery shopping went well yesterday except for being almost double the cost as I bought extra items for my guests, as you do. After lunch, I decided to check the fluid levels in the tractor. Fuel was down so I went to top it up = ran out of diesel. So, back into town again to get 20ltr.s, put it in my bowser and finish that job.

I decided to clean all of internals of my windows, then went on a 'cobweb patrol'. "Cathedral ceilings" are lovely, but magnets for cobwebs.

Finally got some Tractor Fun delivering a round of hay to the "Mad Agisting Horse Woman's" property, down the road a wee bit.

Today is continue to prepare the house for my guests, which will probably include a quick trip to the tip to recycle the wine bottles that have somehow accumulated. Heck, another empty bottle appeared last night!

That's about it, take care all.
Kathleen is going shopping with a friend today so I will be on my own for awhile 😉 We will see how that goes 😂
I'm reminded of the T-shirt, "In my defence, I was left unsupervised."
;)

good morning, 72 going to 85, rain in the FC this afternoon maybe, it was also in the FC for overnight but no rain
Grass has brown spots

Up too early, don't know why

Worked on another storm window, changed the glass and sealed it up. Moved a bunch of tree stumps left in the upper fields down to final resting place in the back 40. Could easily bury them with the excavator but why spend diesel on that.

The business model for the tire store that rebalanced the tires is interesting. The check in area is more like a lounge area where customers can use laptops, read etc while waiting. At the counter the check in person writes up the service ticket with details like air pressure front and rear, torque spec for wheel bolts etc. He goes out and inspects the tires and write down wear and other observations and sets you up with text updates on progress
Then you can choose to wait in the lounge area or stay with the car and drive it into the bay. We chose to drive it in. He also gives you the time it will be called to drive in and then we wait for our turn. Sure enough right on time the team lead for that bay comes out and directs us into the bay using hand signals that he had explained.
He stays up front and directs the two people, one on each side. Four jacks lifts it up and they go about the business of balancing and rotating. All their equipment seems to be latest state of the art stuff
Despite all that they had missed the air pressure in the left rear tire and it was set for the front tire pressure of 47 psi and not 70 as it was supposed to be. Did not discover that via the tire pressure monitoring system until I was several miles dow the road. Did not want to turn around so left it and went up to the barn when home and grabbed the air hose and corrected it

Will see what I can get into today?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 59° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 90° with plenty of afternoon sun. PT was tuff yesterday. Did some conserve energy time in recliner after cleaning shop enough to start to new projects. Grocery shopping this morning. Then start cleanup of Mule. Need to take all the items out of compartments and bins that are not needed for tractor show. May cut grass in back field. Then back to recliner for some rest for my foot.

Good Morning from Central Texas,
At 4:45am, 74.7 degrees with 74.4 dew point. The storms formed yesterday. My weather station said 1.55", but friends around the area generally had .5-.6". Guess to be sure I need to check my rain gauge to make sure. I noticed last year that enough dirt had accumulated and stuck to the auto-dumping cup making it heavier and throw the readings off. I have it on a pole and I need a ladder to access. Only ladder I have is a little giant foldable which weights 10,000 pounds, and I have to carry from the pole barn a long way, so I don't check it as often as I should. :) But, ANY rain here this time of year is rare.
Hope all have a great day !

68 to 90, maybe storms.

BEF, Hope your dad is recovering. Prayers said.

Took Della hiking to her swimming river, she let me know I was a day past sue on her schedule.

Came home, saw my wife off to babysit our granddaughter for a couple of days, made lunch and then rain showers kept me from my planned mowing and spraying.

Good morning TBN!!
69 this morning moving to the mid 80s. .07 in the rain gauge this morning. Puts us over 6" for the week. Looks like today may be somewhat dry, although the humidity has been off the charts.

Spent the day puttering around the shop this yesterday. Worked on cleaning and mounting an old Reed vice I picked up at an estate sale last summer. Ebay has a listing for it at $575. I paid $40 for it and a Wilton at an estate sale. Gave the Wilton to my BIL.
Todays agenda will probably pack up the truck to start cutting up the old bridge tank up. Been pretty slack on it but we arranged to have concrete on the 23rd so I need to get back at it. Depends on precip. Looks like most will be to our South in Charlotte area. Hope so.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good morning, the low is 57 and only going up to 72°F. Wind NNE 13 gusting to 19 mph. Sunny. The heat wave has broke for now.

Dump/town run on for today. Maybe we can get some more freestone peaches. Only have 5 nectarines left to eat, they will be gone by Saturday.

That is my day planned out.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning,
Ct, 70 to start going to 85 or so. Another hot and humid day by the looks of it. The last really humid day according to our weather man.

Getting ready to go on my morning walk, yesterday I spotted a good sized bear about 1 1/2 miles from home. Glad he didn’t see me 😉

Got most of that birch tree cleaned up yesterday, all the branches dragged to the back left corner of our property. Still have a section of the trunk that needs to be cut into rounds and I guess I will bring it to Vermont because I don’t burn a woodstove in Ct anymore.

I charged the battery on the Farmall and dumped a bit of gas in the tank, that old girl fired right up.
Will be tough to see it go, but it’s just sitting collecting dust, someone will enjoy this tractor again. Need to get it out of the garage corner and clean it up before the new owner comes on Friday afternoon.

That’s about it for today. Hope all have a good day 🙏

I don't know how far north you are or your source for peaches.
However with the local drought and heat they are coming on very quickly.
If it stays the way it is the peach crop could be over fairly fast.
Initially it was delayed by the cold and wet start to the season but it's more than making up for it now.

good morning all

Bill, hope you have a "peachy" day...

got to my friend's home last night just before major downpour.
By end of dinner it had stopped, good timing and it looks like about an inch and a half
of rain for home. One weather station shows half as much rain as the other, and this time the older one seems
to have the more accurate rain performance, said 1.55 inches of rain. Lake Drew was showing some water and that only
occurs after at least an inch of rain so looks like the 1.55 is accurate. Which is wonderful because that means everything got a good
soaking and no watering for a few days.

my only plans for today will be washing the rv, which is likely nicely black streaked from the rain
no hurry, no pizzaz at the moment, guess I need more coffee

I need to go online and see if results from yesterday's xray are posted. Hoop number two to qualify for an MRI
which can analyze soft tissue better. Found the open MRI place I used last time, an adjunct facility to the largest private
ortho practice in area, Rothman, and they have their own open MRI. Thankfully only about half an hour away.
am waiting for doc to look at xray, say yup this doesn't tell us anything, so go ahead with MR. The more I think/feel about this, I think
pain is coming from hip ball and socket and is likely just a progression of my arthritis and disc degeneration.
I'd say the equivalent of having worn tie rod ends...and I really don't want new parts.

70 outside right now, heading to upper 80's today.

Busy in the real job yesterday, and wife came back with MIL. 'nuff said. Don't read it wrong, the lady is OK, just needs to be catered to all the time. It's like she is on a vacation. I have attempted to tell her she has house freedom to get or do what she wants, but it has not clicked yet. Probably will not, ever.

Still looking for a dishwasher...now washing machine is also on the fritz.

Grass needs cutting, but weather is not cooperating.

Need grocery run sometime soonest.

Managed to get on tractor late yesterday and finished trail/paths on property. Always fun. Did bottom out in a familiar wet spot again. LOL.

More real job today, later. Lots more changes coming, these may be good, but in the short to medium term - chaos.

Hope all have a great day, be safe.
