The
Impressive. Are the wearable parts easy to get? Online?
The Imants machines are made in the Netherlands. The importer is in North Carolina. So that's the only place to get most of the parts. But, on these 2 machines, the blades are the only thing to wear out. And they keep those in stock.

This is a field we did a lip removal on July 16. The first pic was taken then.

This pic was taken today (August 8) and shows how the Bermuda grass has recovered well, as expected. These pics are not the exact same spot, but are on the same field.

These pics are to give you a better idea of some of the attachments I've used lately.

They say necessity is the mother of invention and your attachments prove that!

Seems like if enough people see a need for something, a person will invent a tool for it.

Very cool pics!

Verticutting the last of 5 golf courses today for BREC (Baton Rouge Recreation).
Things don't always go the way you want.
We created damage like this on almost every green.
We adjusted the verticutter many times, and nothing seemed to work.
The grass did not have enough roots in some areas and would pull up very easily.

Is that when you get the rake and shovel out?

You can see this field had lots of ripples in the outfield. Spreading sand with the blade can sometimes be a lower cost way to fix these type issues. Otherwise we would have to remove the grass and re-grade then replant. This process cost about 10% compared to a complete renovation.
It doesn't work in all situations, but can sometimes be an effective way to create a safer playing surface.

Saw a FB post today where it looked like some guys were laying grass sod over a farmer's field that some contractor tried to level to create a soccer field.

Don't know what the past contractor did to the ground. Didn't see anything but sod and a tractor with a 3pt tiller in today's post.

Reason to worry that they haven't mixed in sand to soften the field enough?

Adding sand is a good idea but is not necessary. I would be more concerned about the grade of the field. If it's not graded properly, it may not drain well and would cause problems. The contractor may have graded it properly and today they are using the tiller to just loosen up the soil a little before laying the sod.

Long day yesterday. Drove 3.5 hours to remove lips on 2 fields that are about 15 miles apart. After that we stopped at another field to fix an irrigation. Got home around 8:00pm.

The assistant ad of the school putting down new soccer turf was out in the 110 degree heat index putting up a temporary fence yesterday because someone drove their vehicle over it.
