I have a leak on my 2305 and I think I have narrowed it down to the axle housing. There is no trail of oil from the bearing at the axle instead I think the gasket is leaking where it attaches to the trans axle. Has anyone done this. I was in there years ago for a problem but I don't remember how to get at it. Attached is a picture of where I think it is leaking. I put UV dye in the fluid and it keeps showing up here after I wash it. Looks like it leaks from there to the next seal below and then to the bottom.

What can you tell us about what you did when "in there" years ago ??
Sounds like maybe you'll need to go back, after first double checking the proper torque on the bolts.

PTO issue, about 5 years ago. checked torque. it is correct. I don't remember having that off. I thought they stayed on.

Just an observation from afar. Those components all look like they are aluminum. The outer surfaces are very smooth and the ribs are clean and crisp. I could be wrong also. If a new gasket and or gaskets is required and the components are aluminum be very careful cleaning the sealing surfaces. No power tools, all hand work.

I happened to walk in on a quote " expert mechanic " while he was replacing intake gaskets on a aluminum head engine. There he was with his mini hand held belt sander removing the old gasket material from the cylinder heads. Those areas went from a sealing surface to " no seal " surface. TaDa.

Very true, plastic razors and not real abrasives. Ive got some loctite SF 790 if need be.

From everything I have found, it appears I can drain the fluid and then just pull those bolts off the axle housing and it should pull out by itself unless there is something I am missing.
