Only a solar battery maintainer at the barn where I park the tractor in the winter. Getting a diesel started is one of the few places I really need electricity. You must have some PV panels I assume

This will be an interesting back and forth.
How do you make coffee in the warm months when the woodstove isn’t running?
No refrigerator, freezers, modem, microwaves, lights, computer, vacuum cleaners?
No hair dryer for a woman, dishwasher, washing machine?
Blender, stereo system , TV, battery charger, security camera?
You mention no well pump, so no pump to move water within your house? No AC, obviously, but not even a ceiling fan?
You don’t have battery devices that need to be charged? No garage door openers? Soldering iron? Table saw, drill press, welder,….Nothing?
My cable tv bill ( before I dropped it), was 180% of my electric bill…. And the cable TV modem required electricity! This will be an interesting back and forth.
I would bet I'll end up on both sides. I like some technology things. I just don't like fees and subscriptions which, BTW, those costs are getting way out of tolerance.
That's me, but I don't think it's nuts. My power bill is for a refrigerator, 2 freezers, water pump and smal hot water heater .I know people who still pay more for cable, or more for a cellphone plan than they do for electricity. That’s nuts
I pay more for a landline.... but no cell service here...That's me, but I don't think it's nuts. My power bill is for a refrigerator, 2 freezers, water pump and smal hot water heater .
Also occasionally fire up my welder.
My cell is my only phone and internet access right now, including running my work laptop.
Can you find cell service to do that for less than 35$/ month?
That's why I gave up my landline/internet.I pay more for a landline.... but no cell service here...

They stopped fiber at the next house up, about 3200 feet away. I haven't asked what it'll cost to bring it the rest of the way.Yet it works here and they are pulling fiber to every home.... No cell and even Starlink is sketchy here in the woods. I would have to drive a few miles to get a cell signal, kids use wifi setup off the copper lines to use their phones.
