Curious what's that existing trail to camp on soil wise. is the
trail to camp about a mile long?

Yes one mile. Little dirt n clay on rock. Lots of rock.

Maybe he can get lucky and the counties clearing ditches nearby, as long as it's not a long haul they might dump it around his trail entrance. If he Asks it's usually better than clay and sand and .maybe something to work with in certain areas of a mile stretch definitely not perfect. though.

Some of the logging road mud holes are simply the dirt was pressed out via trucks, creating a berm that retains water. So the berm needs to be cut out. Other area's are so grassy, we can't see whats there and retaining the water.. The owners had been driving out there some years ago, before the last logging operation. We looked at historical moisture level for the summer which showed 6 or 8" of extra this year.

Figure on 80 acres there's probably a source to find road building material of some quality on it. Unless that's a skid trail, the co that logged it problaby put down a decent base most likely found in the area they were working or the logging trucks would get buried and have to haul super light.
