One thing I will miss when I trade my Colorado is that convenient step in the rear bumper. Sure, other manufacturers have something you can buy. Yet that adds cost, and I have yet to see anything as versatile as the GM step.

Something like that costs the manufacturer basically zero, but is nice to have. Its almost the kinda of thing you never think of until you have, and its hard to give some of that stuff up after you have had it.

When I need to get in the bed of the F350, especially if the tailgate is down, I step on top of the tire and swing over like getting on a horse. Sounds weird but it's easier than crawling up on the tail gate.

Same. Been doing that probably since I turned 40. My rear bumper height is nearly the same as the tire, but the tire is more accessible than the bumper, when the tailgate is down.

I'm still young enough that I'll make fun of anyone who uses a tailgate step (@Jstpssng). But I know the reality is I'm probably not many years off from secretly appreciating one of those, myself. :D

That's still 36" off the ground.

Yes, but still easier than climbing on the tailgate because I can grab a hold of the bed rail to pull myself over. Going over the tailgate when it's down, I either have to sit on it and swing my legs in (and get my butt dirty) or climb in on my knees which hurts. When the tailgate is up, I have a nerf bar that I keep in the receiver with a step built into it.

Not me. Nope, never. Not gonna happen.

Cripes with my occasional get it done bull in a china shop mentality climbing on tire swinging legs over bed side is nothing but large scratches just Waiting to happen on the box before I stumble falling on ground after getting caught on something like the bedside tye down anchors, don't ask why I posted on such detail of that event. Almost like it actually happened 😆. So Ive grown Accustomed to
Taking my time dropping the tailgate and using the steps on sides of bumper.

Reminds me of that time I DIDN'T catch the leg of my shorts on the SCV lever on the 2520 and fall flat on my face. Also, I have NEVER caught the leg of my shorts on the parking brake handle of my Mule when exiting and landed on the ground. 🫢
