I always told them they missed the boat, we had more money to spare when we were in the small house! :p
Somewhat like after buying my first house then.

"You must be rich having bought that house" they said. My answer quickly became "Why don't you buy a house, too, so you'd also be rich?"

We always did 1/3 or 1/2 up front, rest on completion along with itemized agreed list of any changes. All changes approved when noted and discussed.
I’m essentially a contractor, bidding out jobs at $30k to $300k, and my standard process on new customers is the greater of 50% or material cost up front, and balance at completion.

I know many of you have issues with the gas cans that are sold today. The following article provides hope.

I followed two beer delivery trucks down the interstate a few years ago. They were obviously done for the day. I was also, but trying to get someplace to look at an implement before it got too dark... then 125 miles home again.

I just looked into my old sent emails and found that I still have the letter of complaint I sent to the company. I had recorded the truck #s but apparently forgot to include them.
Speed limit there is 75mph.
Dear Sirs

At about 4:50 last night I was southbound just below Howland when I came up behind two of your trucks travelling side by side at about 60mph down the interstate, with traffic piled up behind them. I followed them for 6 miles or more at that speed, until they were forced to split up at one lane bridge construction over Pushaw Stream. I'm not sure what their purpose was, other than to pi** people off; at this they succeeded, as one driver finally passed them on the right in the breakdown lane. I hope that your company doesn't condone this type of behavior and that you will ask your drivers to be more considerate in the future.
Thank you.

This morning realized how much I dislike Electric foot rests on couches or lazy boys . I can't stand every time I have to get up I have to retract foot rest by pushing a button waiting impatiently for the motor to retract it, vs older ones which instantly retracted footrest by using your legs or a handle on side. According to the purchaser of this contraption it was all they sell at the furniture store anymore. If there is a next time I will make sure I make myself available to accompany head furniture shopper to provide my opinion and insight weather wanted or not , (problaby the latter) I can understand the usefulness at a later age though or have a physical disability. but definitely not if your middle aged always on the go. It also makes me feel old and could have been posted in the old when thread. Has society gotten to the point where everything has to be motorized or electronic and does everything for you these days?

This seems like a "chicken or the egg" question.
Or use it or lose it. In terms s of at least maintaining a physical ability to retract a recliner manually despite occasionally having to make a strange grunting sound.
