Tractor
Kioti Lk3054, 1952 Ford 8n
Hi everyone. New member here.
Looking for some buying advice. I currently have a 1994 Kioti LK3054 with a FEL. I use it for bush hogging fields and skidding firewood logs. The property I have is roughly 130 acres of which 15 is fields and the rest are mountains.
It’s time for me to buy a new tractor. The Kioti has been a great tractor. It only has 805 hours, but it’s lived a very rough life and was stored outside for half of the year. I inherited it back in 2005 and it wasn’t maintained much before then.
I’m looking at tractors in the 45-65 hp range. Must have a FEL and rear remotes. I plan to start making hay and planting some crops.
My budget is 40k. I’ve been looking at MF, Kioti, and the Deutz Fahr 4065E.
I like the Deutz being that there’s no emissions, 2 sets of rear remotes and a FEL with 3rd function and the price point.
Can anyone suggest any other brands that sell a tractor similar in standard equipment like the Deutz?
Thanks for the help!

Also new member. I recently bought a Deutz 5080. I only have 50 hours so far and have been pleased with it. Only time will tell about long term ownership. All of the Deutz standard items were extra charges at the competition. Go, drive and compare the different makes. Lots of good information on line.

Thank you. The standard things that come with the Deutz are what is making me lean hard to buying it. Like you said. Most other brands, it’s optional and expensive options at that.

I live the NC mountains and also have some very steep land. One of the Deutz selling points was 4 wheel hydraulic brakes, so if you were in 2 wheel drive one still had 4 wheel brakes, very important in my area.

Compare weights. A heavier tractor is generally more of a work tractor.

This is great to hear! The tractor will be used a majority of the time in central WV.
Thanks

Some of the mid-sized Massey Ferguson's only have a EGR & DOC. (No DPF or DEF) But obviously they need some type of computer ... Like most late model modern tractors of this size...

In that class, I would look hard at the 2M55/2M60 and compare them to the 2E55 and 2E60 in the Massey line. I know the Es have a bit less luxury, but see if its things you want/need. Towards the top of your specific (and towards top of budget) the 4707. If you have the need/budget, the 4707 has good hydralic flow of 17.2 gpm at the remotes.

If its just raw power, and not modern/luxaries; its hard to beat the HP/$ of the Mf2600 series.

All that about Massey, is mostly cause ive been eyeballing them for years. Kioti, the NS6010 looks good, but i would make dang sure if its Cat 1 or Cat 2 3 point. Your in the HP and size range that you do want the ability to run Cat-2 equipment; and the Cat-1 impliments you run are likely Cat-1/2. Regular Cat-1 only stuff isnt really generally going to hold up to 60 hp.

It does look like the Kioti is about $6000 less; but ive seen some 2860M, new, Power shuttles, open station, with loader, left overs for some pretty attractive prices earlier this year, if they are still around on deal lots; I would absolutely take that at $45k, over the Kioti at $42k

Just looking at the specs, the DF 4065E does look good, Cat-2 3 point; but what i looked at quickly, its got the hydralic flow of a much smaller class machine, 8.4 gpm to impliment. That might matter or might not, depending on what you will be running on it
