Kubota M7060 or Deere 5075e

Not a "choice" for me. My ancient (1960s) John Deere 2020 diesel lost its engine. Antifreeze in the oil. John Deere dealers I checked with told me it would cost me anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000 to have a rebuilt engine installed! So I started shopping and found this Kubota with only 179 hours on it on Craigslist. Guy was being forced to sell it and had it advertised for a very attractive price so I bought it. I've not regretted buying it at all - great, trouble-free tractor and with the cab with heat and a/c I find myself using it much more than I used the John Deere. I can be doing things no matter what it is like outside.

Ironically, a few months after I bought the Kubota I found out that one of my coworkers had a hobby of working on old tractors. He did an in-frame rebuild on my old John Deere for $3000 so now I have two tractors!

And you're right about the tires. The new Kubota's have radial front and rear l, my existing is bias rear and radial front.
I believe the Deere I'm looking at is bias front and rear.

The 1154 does well in many circumstances but the 5x6 bales I have here are about 2000lbs, guestimate.
Nice pics, that's a good size rock. Haven't moved one quite that size yet.
I've had a couple of issues with the tractor. But I'm sure I'll have some with Deere as well.
When looking at specs the Deere 520m and Kubota m32 are close to capacities.

Ive read some have some electrical issues and cold start issues with the Deere .

My Kubota dealer says he's looked at the 5075e and the m7060 is much more tractor. The Deere e series is economic model and that it's not as smooth to drive or shift. not as refined.

And some have issues getting dual function on the loader to work smoothly where the Kubota 1154 is flawless in that regard, not sure about the m32 though.

Guess I can't say I've actually handled 2000lbs on that loader, my bales wouldn't be that heavy. 4x6 bales not common out here, even the guys making full round bale silage don't make larger than 4x5 for heft and that is using 90-100 HP loader tractors at minimum. I buy the 500kg fertilizer bags since the 1000kg would be better used on a much larger tractor. You might be asking a lot of a tractor that size at that weight of bale. I'd demo the tractor with your bales before buying (5075E or new 7060)

When I was looking at 5075Es they all had the narrow bias tires, versus nice wide Metric on all M7060. My open station has a lot of hours on fat radials and still a lot of tread left. You stay on top of the land when narrow tires cut in and sink. Based on next to no issues on that tractor and local dealership buying another orange one was easy choice.

M32 loader is Alo Quicke in orange, definitely the premium loader over the 1154.

I am impressed with cold start on the 7060, I ordered it with block heater and didn't even plug it in last winter. Always started instantly when I needed it.

Yup. Same with my M7060. Fires right up at zero degrees, and it doesn't even have a block heater. My old John Deere won't start unless it is plugged in if the temperature is 40 degrees or colder.

Well that's a good read to look for a tractor. There's a Deere 5075e that has extremely low hours and is much cheaper than a new Kubota so I'm leaning that way because of the purchase price. But I don't want to regret the decision and won't be able to change it later.

Ha, well you can't go wrong with having more tractors .

I just built a retaining wall with concrete v-blocks that weigh 3600 pounds each with my M7060, the wall is 28 full size blocks and is stacked one layer. It struggled, and surely pushed the tractor to its limits but was totally doable. I was surprised that it was able to do it.. I used no counterweight and I have cast centers and radials.

I also regularly carry 2 4x5 bales on the loader with one on the 3-pt. I also regularly carry feed totes that weigh 1 ton. I have been very happy with the tractor. I have about 700 hours on mine now in less then 2 1/2 years. My main complaint is the slow loader speed, I have the 8 speed.

Wow. That's a lot of weight. I'm surprised that it was able. When I first got the tractor it struggled on small bales. But my previous kubota experience made me aware of Kubota keeping the pressure on the relief valve low. So I cranked it up to 2850 which seems to be as high as it will be happy with as if I go higher the loader valves lock in position such as lift or curl. Odd, but if I keep it under 2850 it works.

M trying to arrange a view and test of the m7060 12 speed, radials, cast rears, and dual scv, and an m series loader. I'd like to see what it can do in comparison.
I slwoild oil to try the same on. 5075e to see how it works and looks. I had tried a 5075e but they didn't have bale forks or ballast. I tied the bale to the loader and all I coul do is lift part of the bale and then the tractor rear end would lift off the ground. It seemed to have the power, just no ballast. They have a different one with a grapple and maybe with ballast this time I could get a proper test. I'm just not sure about the e series. Some love them, some don't, which is typical for any brand.

I like the 4700 series from Massey and I can get a good discount on a new 2023, but only if I pay cash, so I can't get the payments where I need them. And I'm not sure on the reliability of those either.

Interesting how you lift the 2000lb pallets with ease. How deep are the pallets as the bales are 5'. Once I manage to finess the loader to curl then it will lift, but barely. To get it to curl I have to curl and lower the boom at the same time to force the bale back with gravity and downward pressure. this pulls the ballet back to reduce overhanging weight.

I could use one of those 6' rotary cutters, maybe one day. But one expense at a time.

My MX6000 is a smaller less capable tractor than your 7060 and it has a lift capacity of 2400 pounds. With my pallet forks weighing 400 pounds, it can lift a 2000# pallet, but this is maximum weight. Your 7060 should have no issues lifting 2000#.

Not sure why it's struggling. Besides thinking maybe these bales are much heavier than the farmer thought.

MF 4700 series would be my second choice behind M series now.

4707 doesn't have DEF or DPF, but at 58 PTO HP is under the zero rated limit in Canada.

The 4707 is a nice tractor. Only thing I don't like is the high arms on the loader that reduce visibility. But that's about it. They are more money around here compared to the m7060 that is. But it is more tractor for size and capacity.
I'm checking out a used one but it's a 30 hour drive away and that the only one that's nice and has a decent price
Only thing here right now at a good price is the used Deere. The next is a new Kubota. But the Kubota is $15k more, but it is new vs slightly used Deere
