At least you have admitted the err of your ways. I will always forgive anyone of what they say before coffee but not the fact that the chose to say it before coffee.

So the article claims NABS ( a Home dumpo/Lowes rival) is declaring bankruptcy.
“Canadian lumber had climbed 14.5%. Concrete prices jumped 8%. Household appliances were expected to rise by as much as 20%. Suddenly, the question wasn’t how to build affordably — it was whether starter homes could be built profitably at all.”
Their subset data looks like it was supplied by Will Trump tariffs harm home affordability?

Why are they neglecting the other factors in building? Plumbing and electric have certainly increased. PVC is damn near unaffordable, copper can’t even be discussed. Labor rates, insurance…they missed a lot, IMO.

And one other thing that’s not mentioned is permits and regulations. The average price for permits, just to get permission to build YOUR home on YOUR property are outrageous.
Regulations have become so onerous that builders & GC’s (like I once was) have to charge more to do hours of work just to prepare to build something.

How? It says a Home Depot, Lowe’s rival is filing chapter 11. a quick read identifies the rival as NABS.

There's no "a" before Home Depot in the title. I fell for the clickbait also.

I have done this before more than I care to admit.. Thanks for taking ownership of the mistake. Now let see how long we can get this thread going and how many posters do not read your confession post. If we made this a beer drinking game we would be in trouble as most posters fail to read the whole thread before throwing their mil out there. (pennys are discontinued and 2 cents is a high valuation for posters who fail to read entire thread.)
