I've recently listed my 05' L5030 for sale. The tractor has been flawless until yesterday. I went to start the tractor and it is completely dead. Battery is good, but the tractor acts just as if the battery was disconnected. I need to get it running ASAP. Does anyone have any tips as to where to start? Is there a fused link on this machine anywhere? Not sure what could have caused it to blow if so. Machine was flawless and then just dead overnight. Thanks for any help!

My L3800 did the same thing way out in the field. Really had me concerned. :confused3: My problem was the HST safety features. The peddle would not center up and needed grease to work smoothly. I also gave the peddle a good back and forth workout so it was moving freely. And of course once in a while the PTO lever is left on by accident.

I first thought about electrical but glad I thought about seat switches and other safety features. :)

If the panel is dead,as the title implies, My 1st guess would be the fusible link (40 amp typical). If not... the start switch itself would be my 2nd. On my tractor the link is on the pos lead from battery (about 6 inch from bat post) on the lead that feeds the start switch.

My G5200 would die on me. No gages, no lights, no nuthin'. Battery was fine. This would happen periodically, then it would come back to life if I let it sit for a few days. Earlier this week, it quit and has refused to start since then.

Turned out it was the fusible link, which on this tractor is located right next to the starter motor. It hadn't blown or burned out completely, but when I disconnected it and checked it with an ohmmeter, the resistance went from a closed to an open reading when I wiggled the wire.

A quick trip to Autozone, a $5 lighter wallet, and now the grass is once more afraid of me. I bought some 1/4" spade terminals and some 16 gage fusible link wire and made my own little jumper to serve until I can get the weatherproof part from Kubota.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will work on it again tomorrow morning when the sun is up and see if I can't locate the problem. I wouldn't think the HST and PTO safety switches would completely kill everything. Surely the panel would still light up right? Thanks again for the help everybody!

50amp fuse in the fuse panel next to the battery was not transferring current. I'm on my way to the parts house to grab one. Temporary wired with a 12gauge jumper to verify function. With jumper in place, everything functions as it should. Thanks for the help everyone.

Had similar problem 2 months back , disconnected everything and removed fuses, cleaned and crimped a few of the tabs and put everything back together. Everything works now.
