    Adjusting Wheel WIdth?

I removed all four wheels and rims for new treads a few years ago completely by myself. Jack stands and a floor jack were just fine. If I dropped a loaded wheel I knew I was screwed!!! Adjusted the height with the floor jack as needed. Worked perfectly. Don’t drop a wheel was priority number...

Looking for recommendations for a 3-pt log splitter

Timberwolf are nice splitters for sure. I was tossing a stand alone that had these and a Super Split on the short list. Chose the SS and have zero regrets. The huge gnarly stuff stays in the woods to rot.

    snowmobiles

My very not stock 98 SRX was hands down the best and fastest (135 mph) sled I ever owned. I should have kept it.

How do you leave your tractor's hydraulics at the end of a day?

100% neutral pressure. 3pt if attached on the ground.

That would be an easy pass for me.

    Aftermarket mirrors on 5055E

I have them on my 4720. They work and all but get knocked out of adjustment easily. I need to look at another option someday.

    Ball hitch adapter

I’m very happy using my A frame adapter. Too easy to remove and store.

Also don’t forget that the ground buss and neutral buss are separated in a sub panel.

Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

I have a 4720 cab and love it for the size and it has plenty of power. The power is important to me for snow blowing. Very happy with myself for my buddy who changed his mind on selling his 3032. Zero regrets. I do have the famous timing cover leak but it’s real minor yet still irritating but...

Do you bring your battery inside for the winter?

I used to take them (3) out of my boat and it was a PITA so I stopped.

    For those with block heaters

It greatly increases the risk of fire.

    For those with block heaters

I only heat my block when I know I’m going to use the tractor. Been doing it that way for over 30 years. When to energize is dependent on what time the storm is expected. If I’ve forgotten 4 hours is more than enough to prevent beating on the battery but cold starting will work.

Loose gear box on bush hog

No big deal. I had a 72” Land Pride that loosened up. I replaced them with fine thread hardware and locknuts.

    Insurance

Vermont Mutual covers my tractor as part of coverage. It’s not for hire and only used on my personal property. That said the first agent at my former agency said no. I bitched and read him the policy line. He stuck his feet in the mud and wouldn’t budge. Called my agent here in Maine and had no...
