I have two different clamp on types. Yes you must make sure they are very tight when clamped. This type works for me because I have almost level ground, trailers are usually empty. Have big pontoon, 20ft car hauler, 16fy box trailer, 5x8 utility. This type is conveinent for me. I have an L2500 with a loader and my blade is on most of the time. As mentioned makes backing the trailer into a tight space pretty easy since your looking straight at it. I would not be able to move the car hauler or the box trailer if they are loaded full. But when they have heavy loads, they are probably already hooked to my truck or dropped where the truck is going to hook up anyways. If i was pulling a trailer a long way through the woods, it would be hooked to the rear of the tractor or truck.
This system works for me.

I use a loader mounted quick hitch combined with a three-point trailer hitch as shown in this post:

One other thing to keep in mind is the leverage on your front end & loader arms. Again, empty trailers & flat terrain are probably ok front mounted, but the further out front your hitch ball is & the bumpier your ground, the more weight you are transferring to the front axle & shock loads to loader arms. Convenient? yes. Potentially costly repair bill? also yes.

My first set of pallet forks was cheap Chinese junk. It didn’t take me any time at all to trash one fork, but the other fork has a hole for a ball. If I’m moving a trailer for a short distance, or need more maneuverability, I use the fork, otherwise I have a ball on the drawbar.

Here's something interesting:

I use a 3 point trailer hitch.

It's never a good idea to use a loader to move trailers.

As far as I'm concerned moving a trailer with a loader mounted hitch is of no concern. The loads are no more then you get digging into and lifting a bucket full of gravel. It is certainly no harder then using a push blade on an ssqa, especially an angled snow blade. Or turning with a bucket loader on the ground.

I have a ball on the draw bar.
