    Transporting old Grain Drill question

I will be purchasing an old Massey Harris grain drill. The man I am purchasing from has a tractor with forks that can load for me. What do you think is the best way to load this? Maybe tying on just inside each wheel on the axle? I am afraid it might pinch the grain box on top though. Thoughts...

    Repairing an old cultipacker

I spoke with one welder and he said with the time going into manipulating the steel plate, I would be better off buying another wheel. He doesn't realize that finding "extra" wheels are few and far between. I asked him what he thought If I manipulated the steel myself so all he would have to do...

    Repairing an old cultipacker

Here is a decent picture of the bearings. They are not solid at all. I originally planned on building my own Cultipacker and bought the bearings. Then when i bought this the seller would not acceot a return of the bearings. I do mig weld but I am not that good, lol. I can get stuff to stick but...

    Repairing an old cultipacker

I recently bought this 10ft cultipacker. I got it for $600, made a good little drive to pick it up only to find out 4 of the 32 wheels are damaged. There is 1 other wheel that is damaged but it is very minor. I am debating on whether to take these wheels off completely, or try and find somebody...

What kind of cultipacker wheels are these?

No reason other than curiousity. I have been told some wheels are worn but are in good working condition. Never owned a packer, but read a lot about Brillion wheels and other manufacturers. I was mainly wondering if anybody could tell by the look and shape of the wheel , who made it.

Towing JD model FB grain drill

I am reading where people recommend removing "3 bolts on each hub" to disengage the chain to where only the wheel and bearings turn. Has anyone done this?

Towing JD model FB grain drill

I am actually replacing a rotted tire right now on it. That is what has been holding me up on getting it. I have the new tire, just need to put it on. The other tire has recently been replaced.

KingKutter bush hog hitting tires of JD790

I have a 5310 and was having very similar problems with my bush hog as well. However, I dont think it was hitting my tires, but it was swaying a good bit. I had chains tightening as much as i could. Someone on here recommended I add a a spacer (bushing) when hooking the arms up to the bush hog...

Towing JD model FB grain drill

I have a 9ft pull type JD Van Brunt grain drill I will be taking home in the very near future. It has been sitting up for several years under a barn. I am going to grease all fittings and lubricate. The drive back to my house is probably 2-3 miles. Does anyone have any advice or is there...

John Deere 5310 adjusting sway bar/ stabilizer chains help

So this is as tight as i can get it. There looks to be another hook up in the first picture that would would be slighly further away and should get things tighter. This is how it was when i bought the tractor and he used to brush hog a good bit... i guess his brush hog fit differently? To...
