Pros and Cons of allowing Cell Tower on Property?

I’m of the mindset of the poster that mentioned an escalation in the lease payment. $2,500 today isn’t what it was 2 years ago, imagine what it may be in 25. I would expect it to at least grow at a rate that covers average inflation rates. The second option I would entertain is a lump sum where...

Does Grease go bad and Is this still good to use?

I’m not sure about grease, but as far as oil is concerned the new stuff is much better from a lubrication standpoint than the old stuff due to the additives that keep it from breaking down due to heat cycles.

    Car lift in garage

I have that same lift in my shop for going on 8 years. I have the jack but it leaks on whatever is under it so I pulled it.

Buying a new truck ? Times have changed.

People used to buy trucks to use them as trucks, those days are gone. The fact of the matter is that if a dealer had a white two door, 3 speed manual, bench seat, plastic mats with an am radio is a special order nowadays and it would sit on the lot so long it becomes counterproductive from a...

    Field cars

I had a 66’ International Scout back in the early 90’s. Had a 4 cylinder that probably had 50hp, flat glass, zero heat and the turning radius of a freight train. All that being said it was a tank and in low range damn near impossible to stop.

Best aftermarket backhoe for 2021 Kioti DK6010

I love my Woodmax WM-7600 that I have on my JD 790. Work great and suits my needs. I use it on my property to dig a pressure sewer line, install drainage pipes, clean along property lines, pull out old retaining wall and posts. It doesn’t get used like the loader or forks but is damn handy for...

Anyone ever drove over plywood on soft grass or mud w their tractor?

Wood mulch/chips and tree branches and logs or anything like that you can stack up in the wet areas and 4x4 over. The branches and mulch and logs will get pounded into the mud but will provide support. This is a pretty common way to get around in soupy areas when you are trying to clear the land.

John Deere 855 - will my 70 Loader fit?

It also fits the 790, like I have. Can you post a picture of how it’s not fitting? Edit: Isn’t there some adjustability in the length of the legs that go from the back to front mounts? I’m not at my tractor but it seems the brackets are adjustable.

    Trailers coming down in price?

Feeling great that you can now buy that trailer you have been wanting for the last couple years. Realizing that you can’t afford the gas required to tow it…… Priceless

Quick attach bucket conversion for MT125

Looks great and good price too. Been wanting to take the plunge on doing this on my JD 790. Just bought the kit from amazon.

Rebuilding a JD 420 Loader Lift Cylinder

The seal that goes inside the gland before the oil seal that you press fit in is the high pressure. Its a bear to get in correctly and helps to drop in boiling water for a minute then bend it into a u shape (think of a sling where it doubled up) so that you can fit it into the hole of the gland...

Questions about geogrid and cinderblock wall

Yes I agree with you, it’s filter fabric and is used the way in which you explained behind walls all the time to do exactly what you explained……when it was incorporated in the engineering of said wall. Although it protects from soil migration out the front, it also limits how quickly the...

Questions about geogrid and cinderblock wall

You actually want those holes to have some drainage through the wall because if the water builds up behind it in major rain event, it creates a lot more load on the back of the wall than dry moist soil. The wall wall essentially becomes like the walls of an above ground swimming pool try to hold...

Questions about geogrid and cinderblock wall

Yes I figured that but was getting awfully long winded in my first post. I agree with your suggestion. The grid needs to have a continuous attachment in order to take the load without failing/tearing itself apart when loaded. I would suggest two bolts per block to anchor the flat bar but...

Questions about geogrid and cinderblock wall

No, do not do this. I will preface my comment to you by stating that I am an engineer and have have been a contractor in heavy civil construction for 25+ years building roads, bridges and complex civil works. I have years of experience with mechanically stabilized earth walls which includes geo...
