Indeed, when I bought my first car in the '70s windshield wipers used to last a lifetime. Then they got worse but at least you could just change the blade (a pain in the butt but manageable). Now they last maybe a season and you have to throw away the whole thing and buy new ones. What a waste...

Thank you very much. There is a Yanmar dealer not too far from here but they insist they only service brands they sell and since my tractor is a JD they won't touch it. I know, it sounds nuts. Go figure. I will call around to see if other tractor service shops in the area can do the job...

In my previous answer I should have clarified that there was some kind of debris that ended up in the fuel pump and ruined it. When they cleaned the tank the dealer said they found algaes and specs of dirt. From what I understand, the foreman decided to clean up also the injectors, but it is not...

Thank you, the situation is easier and more complicated. I simply suspect a mega scam by the JD dealer who took it in and now wants to skin me alive. He was supposed to replace the fuel pump and clean up the fuel tank and lines. I provided the part. A month and a half later ("we are backed up")...
