    Disking up an old field

Interesting thread. Glad I found it. I have a 6’ cheap disc built on angle iron, and a 27hp Bobcat tractor. It’s 4 wheel drive, but does not have ag tires. I’ve got a small 3 ac field that’s grass and poison ivy. I’m going to try and plant some clover, and anything else that might attract...

why i will never buy bobcat again, why i will preach it and why you shouldnt either

Sad to hear this. Hope it’s not characteristic of the re-introduced Bobcats. My 2012 has been great.

12v vs PTO sprayer for 3901

That looks good. I was only considering a 3 point sprayer because I don’t want it in the back of my Side by side, because my grandkids ride back there all the time. The little trailer might be the ticket. Thanks

12v vs PTO sprayer for 3901

I just have a couple of small foodplots, and one 2 ac field I want to spray. I talked to the local coop but they won’t spray because of my trees. (100’ booms). So I’m going to get a sprayer. It looks like the one with the 12 volt pump would work ok for my small stuff. The question I...

    CT 225 pull 6 1/2’ disc?

Thanks. I don’t mind doing a few extra passes. I was thinking of putting a few cinder block on board also. I’m talking a total of less than 12 acres. I’ve never pulled a disc before. I know zero about setting it up. No idea how much hp I need to pull it. Was hoping with four wheel drive...

    CT 225 pull 6 1/2’ disc?

I’ve been looking for a few months. I’m finding mostly junk. All for around $1000. I’ll keep looking. Thanks

    CT 225 pull 6 1/2’ disc?

Thanks, I did look those up. I also see my 3 pt hitch will lift it.

    CT 225 pull 6 1/2’ disc?

Thanks. Have to stay out of the fields when they’re wet, that’s for sure. Wish now I’d gone with AG tires. Thanks again

    CT 225 pull 6 1/2’ disc?

Found a relatively inexpensive 6 1/2’ disc harrow at RuralKing. Made by King Cutter. Doesn’t seem very heavy duty, but I’m just going to use it for a couple of acres of food plots, and maintaining 9 acres of CRP. I don’t have AG tires on my CT225, but have the utility tires. Think my Bobcat...

Anyone else have trouble with the brake lock?

Thanks John. I’ll investigate the rust issue. Mine have been working fine for a while now. Knock on wood. Jeff

Mowing on the backside of the dam

It’s funny, the pictures make it look flat. I was in low with the front wheels pulling and my left heel on the rear diff lock to get up the backside. It looks flat here. Hey, Eagle 1, I’ve been through Viburnum a bunch of times. Alway on a motorcycle. Ha! Beautiful country down that way.

Mowing on the backside of the dam

I got both ends done, and a little bit more along the top. I’m just not comfortable getting on anything steeper. Maybe I’m way off, and the ct225 with loaded tires could tilt a lot more. I’m just not going to find out. I’ll weed eat the rest when it cools off.

Mowing on the backside of the dam

Roustabout, I didn’t see your post until after my last post. I may look into that. (Getting some younger guys to just weed eat it). Probably only need it done two or three times a year.

Mowing on the backside of the dam

I’m thinking I can go up and down at an angle. In case it’s too steep to go straight up. But obviously keep from getting sideways on the hill.
