What is the name for this type of fitting?

Second one from left. Looks like what would work for the project I'm currently working on. Would a hydraulic shop normally stock these or are they pretty much special order?

    Stud welder

Looking into buying a stud welder that would handle up to 1/4". There seems to be three levels of them. The cheaper auto body models, the capacitive discharge for around $2000, and the top end that goes for 4 grand plus. I'd like to say it would hardly get used, but once you have it you start...

    Stump grinder questions

Would like to build a stump grinder for my tractor and if I do, it will be the first stump grinder I've ever operated. So there will be a lot of basic questions to ask. The first question is, why don't any of them (as far as I've researched) have a telescoping boom to advance the cutting wheel...

    Plastic fenders

I'm rebuilding the dump box for my trailer and had this idea to make the fenders out of polycarbonate (Lexan). Reason being is I often hit the fenders with the brush guard when loading wood and brush with the grapple. Thought I could get a sheet of say, 3/16" black, and water jet and form it up...

    SSQA fork build

For one of my winter projects, I decided to build a fork attachment for my tractor. Saved a set of forks off an old forklift that was junked and this will be the perfect use for them. I drew up the design on a 3D cad program, which will be my first time building something this way. I want to...

    Calculation help

I'm designing a fork attachment for my tractor and item #1 is the bar in question. It will be supported by welded on collars to the side plates.

    Calculation help

Need to know the deflection of 2-1/2" round steel bar, 44" long supported on both ends with 1000 lbs load in center. The bar is hardened to 100 ksi.

    Fuel can modification

Have you ever had something annoy you to where you get obsessed with fixing it? That's pretty much what happened here. I love this fuel container for adding fuel to my tractor. Set it up on the hood and put the nozzle in and add fuel without spilling. Except pressing and holding the button down...

    Bernard guns

Finally got around to setting up the flux core on my dual feeder. I got this Bernard whip with some other stuff that I bought and thought I might as well give it a try. So far so good, but before I buy a bag of tips and some nozzles I thought I'd get some opinions from some other users.

Consider cast weights instead of liquid in tires

Loaded up the insides of my tractor wheels. 500 lbs per side. I like the fact I'm not stressing the chassis this way.

    Steel beam question

You are way over thinking this. Spiderman would be proud of your design I'm sure! Something like this is all you need if you really want to make it out of channel. I'm not an engineer, just a guy who works with this material every day. Good luck!

This pump doesn't owe me anything!

I think I got my moneys' worth out of this pump impeller. It was still pumping fine when I took it apart to replace the seal! That's a new one on the right for comparison.

    Mouse control-electronic

Here is a picture of it complete with ramp to make it easy for them. My neighbor borrowed it to catch 'the' mouse that was in his garage last spring. Caught six the first day and a total of thirteen in three days. He decided to build one for himself. BTW, that peanut butter is years old on that...

    Hoists

Not sure where to post this. I'm looking at replacing the hoist on my jib boom. I currently have an air hoist that has seen its better days and I'm leaning towards either a two speed electric or a variable speed one. The variable speed looks pretty interesting but I've never heard much about...
