Kubota BX 2200 - Tool for fuel filter removal and fuel line crimp

Thanks for the suggestion. But, if the seat safety switch is a feature that kills the engine when you "de-tractor," mine does not have such a switch. It remains running on or off. So that is one thing I can eliminate. David

Kubota BX 2200 - Tool for fuel filter removal and fuel line crimp

Thanks for responding. I was running the tractor for a few minutes when the engine just stopped. I was able to run it for several more minutes and it happened again. While it would turn over and catch, it would not continue to operate. I called my local Kubota dealer who suggested a potential...

Kubota BX 2200 - Tool for fuel filter removal and fuel line crimp

Friends, My BX 2200 suddenly stopped. It turns over but does not catch. There is plenty of fuel in the tank. It sounds like the fuel pump is still functioning. So I am wondering if the fuel filters are toast, and are inhibiting the flow of fuel, if that is what happens when they fail. I do not...

    Kubota BX2200 - smoking...

Friends, while mowing today, white smoke wafted out from under the hood. It was about an hour or so into the mow. About 3 minutes after I first fired it up at the beginning of the mow, it just conked out, which it has never done. It started up with no issue, but did it again about 10 minutes in...

    How to "undercoat" mower deck.

OP here. Obliged for all the experience. Appears the general consensus is against the attempt to coat the deck. Instead, I will just power wash the under carriage after each mow, and commit to removing it every couple weeks for a better scrape and clean. Thanks again. David

    How to "undercoat" mower deck.

Friends, some of you may have read and even responded to my post earlier this week about striking a rock and deforming the 60" mower deck on my BX2200. Got me a 24" pipe wrench (a beautiful tool BTW) and will have at it over the weekend. But it occurred to me that I should do something to...

Hit rock and bent mower deck

LOL. I hear ya. Anyone walking my property could tell I have a Kubota - and not a John Deere - just by examining the color of the rocks.... David

Hit rock and bent mower deck

Sounds good. As an aside, is that what you would use to remove the fixture that secures the blade to the deck? This would be a good opportunity to remove the blades for sharpening or replacement. And would you typically need a breaker bar for that job. And is there a torque measure requirement...

Hit rock and bent mower deck

Diggin, you are correct. The blade is no longer embedded - or never really was. A poor choice of words on my part. It was actually lodged in the deformed housing lip, and I was able to hammer it free. Pipe wrench is a possible option. Thanks. David

Hit rock and bent mower deck

While mowing with my BX 2200 today I nailed a rock. Not the first time, but the first time the engine stalled when I did. So I disengaged the PTO and the engine fired up. But as soon as I engaged the deck it stalled again. When I removed the deck and tipped it on its side, I discovered that one...

Hydraulic leak - what to do?

Friends, OP here. Just wanted to report that the tractor gods smiled on me and my trusty BX2200. This morning I got under the tractor to examine more closely the hydraulic leak coming from what I think are the FEL lines. And as soon as I laid a crescent wrench on one side, I discovered that the...

Aaron, will do. Thanks, mate. David

Hydraulic leak - what to do?

Aaron, are you saying that the milky consistency could be the result of air, caused by low fluid level, rather than water infiltration? My plan, subject to other suggestions, is to drain the system, replace the fluid/filter (and clean off the suction screen), as I have not done that before. I...
