    I've never heard a clicking on this one. The transfer pump is driven off the camshaft.

    Buying Advice Considering an early 70's 830

    I own a 1974 830 since 1998. It's a great little tractor that punches above its weight. Mine has a loader. I've had no problems getting parts from my local dealer and online.

    2040 Starter removal

    Right, side plate. I actually didn't remove it to access the starter. The lower bolt on the starter can be reached w/o removing the side plate. It is tight though.

    JD 830 PTO shaft leak--gasket or seal?

    Thanks in advance to any who can help. I have hydraulic fluid leaking around the PTO shaft. This is a 1974 830. Do you think part 14-seal or 19-gasket, or both, will stop the leak? Hopefully the Deere parts diagram and my picture will both show up.
