Deere 3033r, Kubota LX3520, New Holland Boomer 35

I am shopping for a new tractor for work. I am a land manager for a conservation organization. We currently have a '96 New Holland 1630 (same as TC29D). We use this tractor for mainlining parking areas/access roads/pathways, bush hogging, pollinator (wildflower) planting, cleaning up dumps on...

    Truck cap 'camper shell'

I’ve purchased my last two fiberglass truck caps used for about $300 each and had them both painted to match for about $275 ea. Much cheaper than the $2000 or more for new. Keep an eye on FB marketplace.

New owner of old Ford 1700 - questions

Next up, replacing left side outer wheel bearing and seal. Replace PTO shaft seal and gasket. Replace cap above PTO shaft (rusted out).

New owner of old Ford 1700 - questions

Replaced the 3pt lift cylinder seal. Not much of anything was present! Also replaced steering box/column with aftermarket unit from Kumar Brothers. The only issue was that I had to grind off the pins from the top of the tractor bell housing. The new unit did not have pin holes that lined up...

Befco -- what's up with them?

I had a Befco flex-wing finish mower for a few years and it was great. I've seen several of their other implements over the years and have been impressed. I think their quality is on par with Woods. It seems that they are hardly doing any marketing, however, and not, at least in my area...

New owner of old Ford 1700 - questions

Thanks! I had a Ford 3000 gas for years - great tractor. Only sold because I needed a 50 hp loader tractor. I too had one of those aftermarket seats and liked it. I was just concerned that it would sit too high on the 1700. I ordered one, so we’ll see.

New owner of old Ford 1700 - questions

Thank you. For the steering, I see a new steering setup on eBay for a little under $500, from steering wheel down to the steering box. Any reason not to go with this and instead go the custom route you did with the Kubota steering?

New owner of old Ford 1700 - questions

I recently picked up a 1980 Ford 1700 2wd with nearly 3300 hours to mess around with. The sound of the 2-cyl diesel is unique! It seem to run and shift fine. Some questions: 1. The turnbuckles on the 3pt hitch arms have seen better days. Is there an aftermarket telescoping stabilizer arm that...

    Thoughts on 02 F450 dump

Hmm. I guess I should light in on fire and push it over a cliff before it breaks down.

    Thoughts on 02 F450 dump

Update: I bought the truck, plow and 2 spreaders in question for $2000 and a little driveway grading work. I did some repair work to enable the truck to pass inspection and be able to use it this summer. I also bought a new (used) cab and complete doors to swap over this winter. The truck...

JD 4700 forward pedal not working

He was able to get it fixed by having a piece welded. I haven’t seen it since the repair so I’m not sure exactly what all it entailed.

    Thoughts on 02 F450 dump

Wild range of opinions and experiences here! I can choose from several different realities to live in. I do Appreciate everyone, from those who say I’m going to die a fiery death if I even have another thought of buying the truck to those who think I’m crazy that it’s not parked in my shop right...

    Thoughts on 02 F450 dump

It is just one section of the dump Body frame and yes it would need repaired. The truck frame is OK. The exhaust system is not leaking. I mentioned in an earlier post that a cab with holes could allow exhaust gas into the cab which is one reason a vehicle with holes in the passenger compartment...
