Small tractors doing big work.

Just wanted to open a little thread of sorts. I was always impressed while searching the net of all these really small tractors doing heavy work, or being worked hard over the years. Some of those videos in eastern Europe showing the guys with their little tractors are impressive. Some of those videos of the B6000, B7100's, or those little B1620 Kubota's just to name a few. Or some of those lesser know makes that are used to their full potential. Especially when the guys have all the attachments for them. Using the tractor plus the power source (pto) to perform work. Anyone got any pics, post them here. I'm talking maybe 25 hp or less.

No pictures, but I had a neighbor who ran a 5 foot JD tiller with a little L185 Kubota; and wore the tines right off from it. The tractor had a 3 speed PTO which probably helped, but still, it was only a 15HP tractor.

It mainly depends on the job you need done and the time you have to do it. I filled 10 acres that was a harvested corn field. Turned it into horse pasture. 25 hp tractor and 5 foot tiller.

Of course a bigger hp tractor would have gotten it done faster. But I used what money I had to buy the tiller and took my time with it.

Also have moved many many cubic yards of dirt. Again took my time with it.

Now that all the 澱ig jobs are (mainly) done the 25 hp tractor fits the bill. I am sure there will be future jobs where I have to get creative to get it done with 登nly 25 hp.

Does this count as hard work?

This was my Kubota B7000 pulling a 28 hp crawler tractor. The combined weight with tractor, mower and trailer was around 4500 lbs.

I don't own any of these anymore.

Yes, that counts. I think the small tractor thing is because of a tendency to root for the underdog. Some of them poor little things just keep working after straining under large tasks. How was the little 7000?

Here is my little LS mt125 TLB putting in a septic system, then setting fence posts using the PHD. I have done a bunch of trenches, grading, and spreading stone. Great little Swiss Army knife!

These little machines are really tough. I've owned that Kubota for around 20 years, bought it used. I've only changed one rear axle seal, dynamo bearings, one battery, fan belt and a clutch were the pressure plate finger had worn out. The clutch disk was still fine.

Oh and had to get the pivot pin for the front axle made because the previous owner didn't really care at all about adjusting the nut in the end to remove the play.

I have built the loader for this tractor. And also built an hydraulic broom. Worked really well. Here is a video:

What is the difference of the 7000 to say the current bx25's I see around?

Sizewise I think it's more comparable to a B series than the BX, which I think it's a bit smaller, but I've never seen it side by side. I might be wrong.

Other than that, you get all the good stuff that make the operator more comfortable and more user friendly, like power steering, live PTO, all the eletronic stuff, suspension seat, synchronized gears in the gear model, hydrostat model, higher flow hydraulics and easier to add valves, quick attach loader, backhoes, etc.

A true 3 point hitch, that the B7000 doesn't even have unless you get the 3 point kit. These were made to be used with a rototiller that uses a proprietary attach system.

The list goes on and on. It's all I remember at the moment.

I have aleways owned larger tractors, but for many years my little ford 1620 was the go to winter snow removal tool. It is matched to a 62 inch snow blower that does not know the meaning of CAN'T. Still use this tractor in tight spaces and a 5 ft woods M5 makes it ideal for trail maintenance through the woods. LS MT125 offered a compelling counterpoint to a poster that insisted any tractor weighing less that 3800 lbs was or is a waste of time and money. That "tractor guide" fellow can not be further detatched from the actual truth.

Underestimate the smaller tractors at your own peril, you provide the time, the tractor will deliver the determination.

ptsg, sorry if I misunderstand. the 7000 didn't come with a 3 point hitch? It looks more capable for garden plowing etc with the tires, belly height etc.....

Girlwhowantstractor, are you really a girl who wants a tractor? I bought my mother a 2816hst in 2010 but she passed away only 2 years later. Its a little bigger physically in size for this thread I suppose. But she loved it. Wish I bought it sooner for her.

Yes, that's it. At least here in Europe, they did come with a rototiller that uses some weird system. However there is 3 point kits available to make the tractor more capable.

I have a Massey Ferguson 1705 and some of the things I have done with it will make you scratch your head and ask how did that little tractor do all that but just take your time and these over grown lawn mowers will surprise you.

My 27hp/24pto JD 3005 continues to amaze me with what it does... most recently, and likely again today, runs my dad's old MF 12 square baler.

My kubota l3301 has been fantastic. Does way more than it should. This picture doesn't do it justice but it has cleared a bunch of trees (pushed them over) to allow for better use of the land.

Snow moving for a 1/4 mile is a breeze along with shortening days off of my firewood cutting chore. Love this tractor.

I have seen some people take joy in forcing small equipment past it痴 rated capacity . It don稚 see the fun in early component failure and accidents that damage or destroy man or machine .
