Idling will cause more frequent regens. Also, when the regen light comes on and blinks every 2 seconds you should press it until it starts and continue working. If it is blinking every second with a yellow lamp and diagnostic trouble code of 00 00E87.16, you should do a stationary or parked regeneration. This is done when the tractor is at operating temperature, park brake set, range select in neutral and pedals released. Then press and hold the initiate regen button until it starts. It should last 30-45 minutes depending on how much soot is built up.
Good luck.

One issue that no one has mentioned but is important is the fuel quality. US diesel fuel is very bad. Compared to EU diesel there is at least a 10-12 point lower cetane reading in US diesel. All the sulfur has been removed to make it meet air quality issues. That removes the lubricity in the diesel and reduces the cetane. If you run a diesel fuel additive in your off road fuel (dyed red) it will increase the fuel quality. I have used Opti-Lube XPD additive in my diesel engines for years, including the Yanmar from day one. I suspect that might be a reason for better performance and reduced regens. Could the fuel quality be related? Regens are happening so frequently for some. If the fuel cetane is increased and the lubricity is increased (which helps the IP with lubrication) by using a fuel additive, might that be the answer? I for one believe it is as it has certainly helped reduce my regens to one every 150 hours or so and now at 800+ hours.

Just to follow up...high cetane will increased fuel burn which provide cleaner burn, and will reduce soot. Thus the DPF sensor will not detect soot as frequently due to lower build up. More time between regens.

If you can find it, renewable diesel is far higher cetane than bio or petroleum based diesel. Switching made my Branson with DPF run noticeably better. It starts easier, runs smoother and the exhaust smells less. In my 2022 Silverado HD there's no difference that I notice.

R80 (the 20% is mostly biodiesel) or R99 (1% petroleum diesel) have recently become common in California. They're becoming more common in the rest of the west coast. R99 has cetane of 70 or more. Some stations label it as renewable but many just say bio based or something similar that makes it sound like bio diesel. It starts with a similar organic oil but it's a different, better process.

This is a good tool to find stations with renewable diesel:

My YT359c is at -35 hours and yet to do a regen. I use it a lot for mowing and running at around 2400rpm. Also been moving logs and brush at lower RPMs

Fuel quality is definitely a factor. Yanmar has yet to approve the use of fuel additives or the renewable diesel, so use at your own risk. The best way to prevent unnecessary regens is to use the lowest biodiesel blend available (B7, 7% or less is most desirable), run the engine at higher rpm's and load the engine to create heat. Heat is key to burning accumulated soot between requested regenerations.

Another tip, make sure to choose the right engine oil. Yanmar requires CJ-4 or higher. This is a low ash oil designed for Tier IV diesel engines with a DPF. Using the wrong oil can add to the ash accumulation in the soot filter. Ash is the finest state of soot after it is burned and is the service life of the soot filter.

The Yanmar Academy YouTube page has a 3-part series on regeneration that can help to explain what to expect concerning regenerations.
