Anybody do this and have any tips on how to actually get to both of them? My machine has all the options including the 24 x 13-inch-wide tires and the high dump grass catcher.
Looks like I may have to remove the grass catcher blower unit to even get near the darn things and maybe the front wheel as well.
Would be great if the tractor deck was easy to lift or remove!

The deck is easy to remove, if you think it needs to come off. The owners manual explains it pretty well, if you need explanation.

I don't have the optional grass catcher, but I do have the large tires. I don't think I had to take a wheel off. Or remove the deck for that matter.

It's a little awkward to do, but not terribly so.

Thanks. I missed that in the shop manual page 2S7.
Doesn't look too easy- removing the pedals and getting them back. Plus, I have even more pedals. I have the optional split brakes on the left side for left and right wheel braking. Would be great for pressure washing the trans though. The grass catcher blower is really in the way. It is in the way for battery replacement even. I am going to try to reach in there with the deck in place, but the blower may have to come off. The filters have stainless screw clamps on now, so I am guessing they have been changed at least once before I got it.

Did you replace the rubber fuel lines with the filter change? They say every two years! Seriously! How about every twenty.

Uh, no, I did not. IF they ever NEED to be replaced, I will. Otherwise, NOT.

They do have some excessive maintenance "requirements" like change the mower gear box oil seal every two years. Pretty sure mine is original. Maybe if used commercially and it gets run 40 hours a week not 40 hours a year. I did just add some oil to it after a few years so maybe I should consider that - someday. Only reason I want to change fuel filters is it has lost power for a few seconds coming up my steep hill but maybe the fuel sloshed back and it pumped air for a second because it always recovers and then is fine. I try to keep the fuel level up but sometimes it does get low- I should check that next time.

Mine has wide tires also but no grass catcher and getting to fuel filters is not really that difficult.

It's a 72" rear discharge deck with a generic 90 degree bevel gearbox and no need to change the gearbox oil seal, but you may have different model deck where the middle spindle is directly connected to the gearbox?

Yes- your deck is different than my 72-inch side discharge. Middle blade is mounted on the gearbox vertical shaft. Shop manual sucks regarding seal replacement- only shows gearbox disassembly. I would hope the seal can be popped out and replaced without going full disassembly. For now, will stick to more frequent checking of the oil level. Even synthetic gear oil is not that expensive for an ounce.
Boy your mower deck is REALLY clean.
