I hope if you are using TRC that is not where you are buying it. $18/tube is way to much but buy 2 tubes and they ship free.

I am not using TRC yet. I have used my last cardboard tube of the RNT and need to get something to replace it. Numerous folks over the years have recommended the TRC and I thought I would give it a try. TRC is not available locally and that is the first place I found it online. I'm all ears if you have a better/cheaper source.

How does one select "Lithium complex" at the grease counter?
Always clearly labeled. 90% of the tubes you're going to come across in any place selling tractor stuff are either Lithium complex or Polyurea. Most brands will color them differently for easy identification. IIRC, Deere's Lithium is green and their Polyurea is red... but I might have that backwards. :ROFLMAO:

Deere states in all of their literature that I've read, that their Lithium complex and polyurea are 100% compatible. Deere sells good lubricants, but they're not magic. Meaning, if they say their lithium and polyurea greases are compatible, then I'd suspect nearly all non-specialized lithiums and polyureas are probably compatible.

I think polyurea grease is usually green. The Lucas green is polyurea.

I order mine directly from TRC by the case. If you only use a tube or 2 a year then maybe your link is the way to go. Or call TRC and see if you have a local sales rep and buy by the box.

My last post on this thread was my latest price paid. I get about 2.5 years out of a case.

A Dealer told me that most people use too much grease, and they need to learn to only put in enough to do the job.
With heavy equipment, you need to add grease untill the old comes out. Thats the only way you expell foreign particles as well as wear particles from the bearing.

It does require a pressure wash with hot water and degreasing agent a few times a year, but its the only way to get 30.000hrs between rebuilds....

Thats why hydraulic cylinder wiper seals are used on excavator pins, with the lip pointing outward so that they can relieve grease.

Also why most large excavators these days are equipped with automatic central greasing. You adjust the quantity and frequency of greasing by a visual inspection of the grease that leaks out.

An automatic greasing system is best set to the minimum quantity and the shortest interval, to keep the grease lines open.

In the past there were issues with plugged grease lines, without the operator and mechanic having any feedback because they didnt held a grease gun in their hand.. That was because mechanics set the greasing to 40 strokes once a day, just like they would do when they still had to do it manually. But when you set the greasing to a single stroke every 15 minutes, you keep the lines open, and a better lubed machine using less grease.
