My morning didn't go as planned either.

Helped wife take cats in to get nails trimmed at petsmart. Wife had called yesterday to confirm the hours.
We always have to drug tiger, so he doesn't throw up in the car.
Pebbles rides good in a carrier, Tiger doesn't, so we let him ride free.

Well, tiger threw up about 2 miles from the house, even with the meds. so we pull off, clean up some, head home. He poops and pees. We do have a litter box in the back, and when we put him in the car, we place him in it so he knows it. At least we had old sheets down, that took the most of it.

Got them home, cleaned everything up, decided, might as well try again. This time they did good. Carried them into petsmart and they had a sign on the door, walk ins cancelled today due to lack of help.

All I could think of is, Whoever heard of a dump closed on Thanksgiving?

At least they rode home ok.
Stopped at Chick fil a for lunch, wife saw online they had chicken salad sandwich, kid working there had no idea, but this one didn't have chicken salad.

I have no desire to run back into town looking for batteries.

89.F and sunny @ 13:00, calling for a high of 89F so we’re there.

Slow getting rolling this morning.

Got Menards order made up and placed yesterday afternoon.

We headed out after that with the idea of maybe finding some garlic at a roadside stand.

Stopped by the bank and hit the ATM for some cash as neither one of us was carrying any.

Got a text that the Menards order was ready for pick up as that was happening so headed on down to pick it up.

On the way we discussed the 2 items we had forgotten to order and whether we’d go in and pick those up after getting the order loaded.

We did opt to go in after getting loaded … and the 2 items morphed into about 25 things we needed (or wanted) … the bill for that was about half again as much as the original order … 😂

The Woman has warmed up to the idea of purchasing certain items She would normally get at the grocery store from Menards.

When I first suggested it She was like: “I’m not buying … X, Y, or Z … from a building supply store !”

Definitely had a strong opinion about the propriety of it.

But now she’s seen that the stuff is of good/decent quality … and has commented on how certain things are much cheaper than the 2 grocery stores where She primarily shops.

Stopped by Dunkin on the way home to get Her an iced Butter Pecan and some Munchkins.

I had been on the wagon and being good until that … 😂

Then hit Aldi for the garlic (next door to Menards) … wound up with some ginger root … ostensibly because it was called for in some recipe She had been reading about ...

Once we got home and unloaded I started working on prepping the cukes while She cleaned up the kitchen.

Got 7 quarts of Kosher Dills (6 spears and 1 chips) packed and water-bathed before we called it a day.

Each jar got 3 - 4 cloves of garlic, a few heads of fresh dill, and an Early Jalapeno pepper that I had packed and frozen last year on October 30th:

Remembered to add an additional 5 minutes processing time for our elevation (1137’) … so the jars were in the bath for 20 minutes total:

All are still setting on the counter and seem to have sealed … 👍

Still have a few cukes left over that we need to do something with:

... and a whole bunch of summer squash:

Today marks the 11th straight day with no precipitation (entire month of August) ... the longest period so far this year.

So watering out in the garden is on the agenda for the rest of the day.

Thankfully it looks like there is quite a bit of cloud cover ... ;)

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)

Two of our three hanging baskets made it thru the heat one died. Two hummingbirds come by three times a day very enjoyable to see.

We got couple three hanging baskets last year at the end of the season from nephew and his wife.

She didn’t want to try to overwinter them (space, bugs, something)

We put them in pots and managed to get two of them through winter.

They’re now blooming …

Some big auger rswyan

24”, Tractor Supply.

IIRC, it was as much (or more) as the PHD itself was. Had to be special ordered as they didn’t stock it in the store.

It’s the most used auger bit I have.

Hope Holly and the new pooch are doing well.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.6C and it's presently 15.4C, partly cloudy & calm. There was 3.0mm in the gauge @0900.

Well I discovered that my Winter's lethargic session is over as I checked my calendar to find that my mate Jim from Brisbane (+ his housemate) are due this Friday. :)

I also remembered/thought that a wreath had not been ordered for this coming Monday (18th), which is Vietnam Veterans Day in Australia. Our Anglican Priest has been tagged as the 'Padre' (just as I'm the perpetual 'Parade Commander' for these events :))... and, yes, I'll need to order a wreath for the ceremony.

Just as well, I can stop off at the PO followed by the hardware store as those sawhorses I ordered last Tuesday should be there.

That's about it, take care all.
I pay my taxes the full amount, and early to get the discount. paying half and half means more money to them.
Same here Mate and for the same reasons. The discount here is 2% BUT this time they'll have to re-calculate my "Rates" as I'll get to have my Federal Age Pensioner concession applied. YAY!!!

My township insists that we pay our taxes in two to four installments. I tried paying them all at once when I was working and the excuse they told me was the adjustment comes out in June and they never know how much they will go up. So it is the first 6 months and then the second 6 months. The only reason I split this bill up into two payments is because I didn't budget enough and came up $300.oo short. I've increased the property tax holding deposit (comes out of my pension check automatically) to $125.oo/month. In 6 months that'll give me $750.oo minus about $647. = $103.oo extra/6 months. The front struts on the Dodge are what put me behind the 8 ball. The tractor repair didn't help either.
The temperature at noon today on the East wall was 92°F. Didn't do anything except put the A/C (furnace blower) on at 8 P.M.

Coffee has finished brewing. 68° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 87° with chance of thunderstorms in evening. .31" rain from yesterday's afternoon thunderstorms. About all I got out of Dr. appointment was another visit in 1 month and a Handicap Placard paperwork. I need one in order to take my Mule to Tractor show this coming weekend. Then a visit to SOS (Secretary Of State, Michigan DMV) for the Placard. Finally got front yard grass cut.
PT this morning then back in shop to finish couple of projects.
Soaking up some morning sun.
