    Buying/Pricing

Help - I just bought 9.25 acres, 5 of which will be lawn (overgrown field - swap birch, poplar, ~20' high). We will be building a house in the next year or so, and I have been looking at Compact tractors from a distance for about a year. I know next to nothing about tractors, but am very...

Snow Attachments  FEL Blade Question for Snow

I have a JD 4410 with a power angle blade for the FEL. I plan to use it to plow snow. I tried it a little on the gravel driveway for some light grading and the skid plates dug in to the drivway and made a mess. Is there any solution to this other than waiting for the ground to freeze? Can I...

    JD 4410 Throttle

I just purchased a JD 4410 and am really happy with it. I have one question regarding the throttle position. Is it normal for the throttle to back off a little? When I set it at max throttle 540 for using tiller or mower attachment, it does not stay in this position and I have to keep pushing...

    Dealer margins

I recently read a post that was justifying a 700 mi round trip tractor purchase by indicating that the buyer was saving over $4000. How can there be over $4000 dollars difference between dealers on a $26,400 purchase? In Illinois you could sidestep $1650 in state sales tax by buying out of...

    Starting Oil Pressure

Everyone says on a cold start to crank the engine until oil pressure is shown.(light goes out etc.) Well on my little 1300D I thought the sender was bad so I installed a gage. Although once stated the pressure is good (around 30 psi cold, 15 to 25 hot) It takes quite a few seconds after it...

    Kubota MX5000 ??

I am ready to purchase a new tractor, the MX 5000 seems to fit the bill, but it is so new that there is not a lot of information out there. Does any one here at TBN own one, have any information on it or can give me a idea of what is a good price on one. I am looking at the 4wd model with kubota...

    Kind of Disgusted with Kubota

I bought a L305DT new in 1983. Less than 20 years later (and I don't consider that old for a tractor), I'm finding out that Kubota has discontinued making, at least, some of the parts for my tractor. What good is any piece of equipment if you can't get replacement parts. I was told by the...

    Prep etc

I have been checking on tractor prices for a while now and was wondering something. Do most dealers charge set-up and/or prep? It is a common practice in the auto industry, what about tractors? Some have mentioned it others skirt the question. I don't want any "last minute" charges stuck on my...

    Bx2200 vs B7100

I just purchased a bx2200 w/ the 60"mmm and front blade. I am wondering how the 2200 will perform plowing snow vs the 7100hst. My neighbor had a 71 that i have used and it worked mint, never got stuck and it would push a ton of snow. I know the 2200 has more hp but is lighter (correct?) Any...

Will running a baler ruin my tractor?

I tried running my IH 37 baler on my Kubota L2550 (28 pto /30 engine hp) and it baled fine, I really couldn't notice any load on the engine, not even as much as running the backhoe, but I am worried that the constant load/no load on the pto. will wear something out, that baler is a very small...

    L-3710 HST quote

I just recieved the following quote in Southern Michigan for a L-3710 HST with loader and Ind. tires, $21,875. This includes the $1400 rebate. This sounds a little high, especially with the rebate.
