I agree.. My L12 has been great, other than the hyd pick-up tube issue. $3000 more for a Kubota engine and I would be expecting a lot more out of the machine. I think the Briggs powers the machine almost perfectly. A Chevette will never be a Cadillac, no matter what engine you put in it.

Definitely. I find its much easier to weld in reinforcements when something is straight, before it gets bent and twisted. Often its impossible for me to get something back to perfect. Besides, most people want to add weight to their machine, so I can add it 1lb at a time!! :)

Sounds like all I need to do, is adapt my filter base, 3/4, down to 1/2" then 1/2" to M22. I am pretty sure I remember using "Bushings" to reduce down in size with NPT fittings. Am I mistaken?

An extr an extra 350 lbs should make a difference in digging I would think. From pics I have seen recently, it appears they are not too difficult to remove. Do you raise your seat to fill the fuel tank?

Does it have eyebolt lifting points on top? That would make it easier for maintenance. Maybe have a place with overhead rope and pulley system to remove it when needed.

Does anyone recall the 120v push mowers that were around 30 years ago? Never used one but I bet they had enough power to do what I want. I can make a quick attach basket for my blade and sit a generator on it.. not a perfect setup but would really help me with trail maintenance.

Interesting,, My L12 has what appears to be the exact same drain hole. The drain for the engine oil misses the cutout by a few inches so I may install a flexible extension hose. I had oil running everywhere when I changed it.

Is it possible the hydraulic pressure is set too high? I would think that the bucket teeth should be incredibly tough. I have never bent or broken a tooth on the large machines, I have seen them missing on machines, so I know it happens. Just another reason to remove the teeth and make your own...

I plan on using 3/16 x3" as a reinforcing plate across the back of the bucket and then weld the hook to that. I will be beefing up the bucket wherever needed.

Seems like I recall that from years ago on large fuel tanks. I hope its not necessary on a tiny tank. I try so hard to keep moisture out of the fuel system, it will be hard to fill my tank with water.

That Rato is a good looking engine. I hope its as good as the Vanguard. IMO the Vanguard is the best engine Biggs ever made.

So far, I know the pump is available and the swing motor [Eaton], is available. I have not looked for anything other than that. Amazon has a lot of stuff, they even have whole excavator for sale on the site.

I like garagecon videos. The Briggs chart indicates 2 black wires with a yellow connector on a 10amp alternator. I will check my charging system this week when I go back to work. some charts show a 9amp charge on our Briggs 210000. Are all the Briggs parts interchangeable with your Duramax?

Thats a nice-looking machine, great price. the only things I don't like is the hydraulic lines exposed along the boom and the lack of accessibility to the engine area. Looks like access is under the seat or remove a panel. Probably small things to most people.

It should not need any voltage to fire as it is magneto system, unless they have changed them recently. 120 w is not much to work with but it can be done, I think. :oops:

Just curious,,, I have a small Kubota made in 1980. No hydraulic filter other than the suction screen that I clean when I change the hydraulic oil every 3 or 4 years. 2400 hrs and never a problem and still no leaks. Am I just lucky? It has a Westendorf quick attach loader and I use it a lot.

All the ones you mentioned are AGT, I think they are just different stages of improvement. the DY14 looks somewhat better than the L12 and is 5000 dollars off now, 6999. It seems they are constantly upgrading and improving.

Agrotk has a sale on the DY14. may be better and heavier than the L12. 6999. very nice looking machine.

The H15 may be considered 1.5 ton and may have Kubota engine. the h12 and qh12 are very similar. the L12 is better IMO. I didnt see the h15 on the website but I will look again.

It depends on the rpm. I usually run mine 2100-2800 and almost no vibration. It really does better than I expected. Here is the Latest mod. very handy for me since I am always clearing trails.

This is the fix for the L12. I would hope that any machines bought from AGT in Chicago have the fix already installed, but no guarantees there. If I was going to order the L12, I would have them send the extension tube with the machine. Hopefully you dont need it, but if you do you have it ready...

I did not get any manuals with my machine. I saw something on the website about 30 percent slope. I am looking for the pic of the fix for the hydraulic issue.

The L12 hydraulic tank needed an extension tube for the pump inlet line. It was discovered that the pump may cavitate when on an incline. The factory has sent one to a member here who has an L12. I have not received one yet.

AGT in Chicago has the H12 for 5000 delivered. In my opinion, the L12 is superior. You should know that the L12 had a defect in the hydraulic system. It should be corrected now.

I looked at the qh12 and it does not have the features I need in a miniX. It may work for you and its less expensive than any other Ive seen. I like the access my machine has. I would wait as long as you can before buying one.

Ha Ha you are definitely right about the paint. I have never seen paint this durable on something from China. If the rest of the machine is half as good as the paint on the bucket, I will be happy!!

I cant say if it hurts the small ones or not, but it was standard practice on the big machines. I never had an issue with it or heard of issues from it. As always, research and form your own opinions. It works well on my machine but I wouldn't want someone to try it and hurt their machine.

It may be possible to add another valve to the stack. I think there are 8 valves on the stack now. if you remove the 8 -12mm bolts on the access panel, you can see your stack and how much room is available. I didnt know you needed 2 aux valves for the hammer

With the backhoe on the tractor, you have all the counterweight your machine needs. Tipping means you are seriously overloading the tractor. someone or something will get hurt. I dont always overload equipment but, when I do............. :D

I am not familiar with that brand. If its a Chinese brand you may lose a lot. The trend now seems to be falling prices. I have heard of machines similar to mine selling for half what I gave. if you could wait a few weeks. it may be to your advantage. Good Luck.

That nifty hood on the back was one of the reasons I picked this model. It is lockable. Another reason is the way the hydraulic lines are run inside the boom. I need all the protection I can get.
