Pat's Easy Change 3 point backhoe...is it ok to use?

No. The amount of oil in a fully extended Shaver cylinder isn't all that much. The cylinder bore is about 1-1/4"- 1-1/2". Hydraulic Over Pressure Pump Protection Question

It's not about how the backhoe valve is fed, it's about how oil returns from the valve. Spool seals for many don't like pressure spikes in the return circuit, much less sustained high pressure.
  53. RickB

Hydraulic Over Pressure Pump Protection Question

Running an open center system over a properly installed and adjusted relief valve continuously can and will trash a pump in short order. I have already explained the damage to the backhoe valve. They simply do not tolerate high pressure in the return circuit. There's no mystery with that.

Compact Tractor Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) Version 2.0

That's much easier to understand. Your original comment wasn't nearly that concise. Nevertheless the differences in these tractors are many. One overlooked till now is IPTO that the L3301 has.

Compact Tractor Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) Version 2.0

You think that would give the L3301 engine a larger displacement? The spec data has been posted.

They do share tire size options. So clearly the differences are internal, not bolt on options and accessories.

The claim that an L2501 and L3301 are the same tractor with different hp levels and engine management systems is false. You really need to check on some of the stuff you post here. Many folks have the mistaken impression you don't post falsehoods. An L2501 meets the same emission standards as...

Valve that detents only one direction

Would also require sufficient presence of mind to loop the circuit when detaching the hoe. A simple manual valve with one set of couplers as discussed above would be the simplest, least expensive solution that I can come up with.

Valve that detents only one direction

The plumbing arrangement you describe will work for the backhoe and cylinder, you know that but I'll reinforce it. Any detented valve you are likely to find generically will have a pressure kick out as you also know. I would not use the valve you seek (fully locked detent w/o pressure kick out)...

    Batwing with a single remote?

L2501 3rd function manual vs electric

Yeah, a closed center valve is the wrong choice to add to an open center system. You'll force all the pump flow over relief at high pressure when the valve is not stroked. Pump life will be measured in hours instead of the normal decades. FWIW the stock PB from an L2501 loader valve goes to feed...

  166. RickB

    Loaders using rear remotes

Flow isn't likely to be different than a joystick running off the same pump. It all boils down to how convenient (or inconvenient) the control levers are to reach and use.
  167. RickB

L2501 3rd function manual vs electric

If you go that route be sure to buy a power beyond capable valve which will have 3 connections to the tractor. You cannot use a Tee anywhere in an open center system except for combining return to tank lines. Having a momentary switch mounted on the loader joystick will be far more convenient.

    Loader for Ford/NH 2120

    Understanding draft control

Draft control is most effective when used with ground engaging implements. Mowers aren't in that group. That's actually an advanced version of position control. Not at all related to draft control. These systems do not vary working depth from the surface because of the draft load. This...

    Loader for Ford/NH 2120

Westendorf is a high dollar brand that typically makes loaders for much bigger tractors than a 2120. Retrofitting a 20+ year old tractor is probably a build-to-order deal, at least for the bracketry. I'd dig a little harder. Woods, Ansung, KMW may be less costly.

Need Tire Chain Tensioners for Kubota BX2660

Put them on tighter. If your fender is that close to the tires you'll probably do damage to the fenders with chains sooner or later no matter how you install them. I used tire chains on tractors for about 50 years. I'll stand by my comments here but you may not agree.
