    New Holland 1925

I had a New Holland 1925, and it was a real nice tractor. I think you could buy a couple of rectangular LED lights on Amazon that would fit in the grill well enough. Is the bottom of the bucket straight? Why was it overheating? Did it ever get real hot? Does it run in the middle range...

I think I'm going to need snow removal equipment

I made my (snowblower) recommendation based on the amount of snow, hills, R4s, and the plow truck getting stuck. Around here, you can buy a used 3pt snowblower for $2,000 or less. That won't seem extravagant when you're digging out a stuck tractor. If it is super light fluffy snow, or my...

I think I'm going to need snow removal equipment

Which tractor do you have in OR? How steep is the slope. Using a bucket works, but it takes longer than you think. A 3pt snowblower sounds like just the ticket for you. I've had R4s, and they were racing slicks in wet snow. I now have R1s (Ag), and they have way more traction in snow. You...

Are CUT Manufacturers pricing themselves out of the market?

Obviously people are still buying CUTs. They have enough $$, or can finance. Higher new prices will drive up used prices. People that can't afford used CUTs, may turn to old farm iron, or do without.

Are CUT Manufacturers pricing themselves out of the market?

My problem is my anchor point. When John Deere was feeling the footsteps from Kubota, they came out with the more affordable 3032E (around 2010). You could buy one with a loader and a free back blade for $15,000. Now it would be $32,000+ without a back blade. My brain hasn't kept up.

Are CUT Manufacturers pricing themselves out of the market?

I look at the price of new CUTs, and I blanch. I wonder if the price is growing out of reach for more and more first time buyers. Maybe it's that we get locked into what the prices were when we were first interested in CUTs. Maybe I''m just an old fart that says I remember when ... I was...

A backwards disk chisel, (chisel disk?) to make food plots

    Need some bush hogging advice

That is a sound approach for estimating/quoting. I'm not sure the OP has enough experience to quote the whole project accurately. That's why I suggested they do it in "parcels" so they don't get too far over their skis. If they bid the whole gob, there are 3 possible outcomes: They lose...

    Need some bush hogging advice

You do know what you are doing. You also have well heeled customers who are willing to pay $$$ (I'm not saying it's not worth it). I'm guessing you have a lot of repeat business and not as much of a $hit$how as what the OP is describing. If you bid this job, I'm guessing your quote would...

    Need some bush hogging advice

I don't know if this is in the right category but I figured I would try. Boyfriend can drive a bush hog and has done it in the past. Just got hired to bush hog 11 acres in Georgia. Property hasn't been cleared in 10 years so lots of scrub trees, pine trees. Want down, a lot of brush, thickets...

There are lots of variables to the work they want done. I would bid a job and do a job. Then bid another job and do another job. Start with the ones you are most comfortable with first. Tat way, you won't get too far over your skis.

I don't need it, but I like it. Mine has a triangle affair that drops into place when the bucket is level.

John Deere LX280 - How to remove air filter cover

This pic shows the two cam over type clips that hold the air filter cover on. Kind of hard to see with the hood flipped up but kind of blocking vision. Easy to remove, but the clips kept falling off when trying to put back on. Finally got it.

2,000# of snow? If I get this right, the (flat) stiffener sections allow for snow to build up and (compact) to the point that it's the same as jamming a log in there and then lifting. What's to keep that from happening again? I'll say it again - flawed design.

Yep. Never bent anything. You don't think that push tube should be able to lift the blade without bending? Seems under engineered to me.

So, simply lifting the blade bends the push tube? That seems weak to me.

I usually think bigger is better, but 42% of your 3.5 acres is already domesticated, and it doesn't sound like the rest is all that bad. I think a SCUT would fill the bill for you. Here is a good video of the capability of a SCUT. That Massey Ferguson looks like a good deal, and I don't see...
