if the the subpanel is fed off the main panel, you only need one interlock. you only need to shutoff the main breaker, at the panel, that is wired to the pole. this is to stop electricity from flowing out onto the powerlines on the pole.

your generator should charge the battery, you can check with a volt meter a equalize charge is actually bad for an agm, and should not be apart of the charge profile li-on needs special care for a cold weather environment, not something I would recommend for a Generator standby

a voltmeter will easily determine a bad connection if current can be pulled through it on a starting circuit. Look up how to perform a voltage drop test

unless your drive is bare dry, I would be in 4x4. this is something you need to learn, you can try uphill and see how that goes as well, if it doesn't work, stop turn around and go back down.

Surprised by the number of people suggesting 360 for this type of work. I use it everyday, and wouldn't use to design a floor plan, although you can do it. you get no real visual, and building stairs etc, could take a bit of work. the architect programs really help with the visuals

in this case a voltage drop test would have confirmed it, with a volt meter.

3 pin are generally rare. there is usually a post that is meant to be mounted to ground, this removes the 1 pin needed for coil. there would be generally be hot side coil and then the load, and the battery terminal. sending 12v to the hot side coil, generally activates the coil

The biggest cause of failure for a winch is getting it wet or muddy and never running it in and out. I have the cheapest winch you could buy at HF, put on my atv over 10 years ago. that winch has been underwater at least 100 times. I make sure to run it in and out a couple times a season. Still...
