Should you buy a little more winch than your task calls for, then the winch may work a little less in the world of straining.

Regardless of where it may or not be manufactured.
MY 10,000 pound winch will definitely slide my 4500 pound Jeep even what all four wheels locked (on dirt) .... Sometimes I even need wheel chocks....

Wench vs. winch... Mid to low level Warn winches are made in China, IIRC. I got a Smittybilt (pictured) thinking it was made in USA as the website said, but no longer, 2 years ago.
