    No, and ive looked. Some of the portable units have 24% THD. Its crazy insane. Wont hurt a portable drill or saw, but electronice wont like it. Neighbor has a nice champion tri fuel generator. Works great, but his led lights hate it. Flicker like crazy.

    Depends on generator. A generac standby needs constant battery charging while operating during power outage. This is designed into the generator. Some generators have battery charging windings in alternator, some dont. It depends on generator specifications.

    I honestly dont see how.UL would have required 50 amp rated cord when used with 50amp rated outlet. The only time they ever vary this are for items like welders that only peak at 50 amp during strike off, and run significantly lower amps while operating.

    I have a 1000 lb rear ballast now myself. I used to move and install alot of generators. Some of those topped 1500#. Even though the tractor could lift it, it was hard on the front end. The rear weight really helped. Without weight the tractor was real tipsy.
