First off, spell check would be nice... It's not 'Hydrolics', it's Hydraulics. You need to check the amount of fluid in the gearbox and add if becessary and use the correct fluid and not the cheap farm store junk either. Your tractor will either have a 'sight glass' or a dipstick. Hopefully, you used the correct filter(s) as well.

Secondly, hydraulic pumps don't cotton to running dry very well. A dry running hudraulic pump will very soon fail.

Hi Jon,

Welcome to Tractor By Net.

I'm sure others will be able to give you more advise than I can. Maybe some history will help us.

What filter did you used?

Did you loose any fluid when you changed the filter, if so did you add any back into the system and what type of fluid did you use?

Were there any other symptoms other than your loader being jerky before you changed the filter?

Was your hydraulic fluid level correct before you changed the filter?

I do find it interesting that a lot of posters come on here and inquire about issues that in reality only require some due diligence to fix but then I guess that is an optional thing today and I'll leave it at that. Guess it's the general attitude of the enviroment we are living in today.

One thing I don't believe I've ever done is post up any issue I was not able to deduce and remedy myself.

My rich neighbor bought a new 60HP cabbed tractor and is having all kinds of troubles with everything.
After listening to his list of issues and making a few suggestions on some of his concerns, I quickly realized he has no idea how a tractor is operated.
Disclaimer-
I suggested he read the owners manual to solve most of his issues,
His response is that people buy cars every day without having to read a manual to operate it.
He trailered it back to dealership to get the JD QA bucket unlocked and show him how to remove it.

(Family owns and operate a big third generation car dealership locally, he is listed as General Manager??) no kidding!

That is scary to say the least but in the case of cars, today, most of them are built idiot proof and with today's vehicles, if they break, it's usually a trip to the dealer as most of them are impossible to repair without an expensive code reader anyway. Today's vehicle owner maintenance is mostly relegated to oil and filter changes and most people use the quickie oil change places anyway (I don't) and airing up the tires (why vehicles today come with TPMS monitors that will throw a check engine light on the dash when the tires are low simply because people never check the air pressure in their tires anyway...😂

Reading owners nanuals has become irrevelant for the most part for a ton of people.

Tractors on the other hand aren't cars and reading the owners manual is a requirement plus the owners manual will call out the proper filters and fluids required. Having said that however, if an owner never bothers reading the supplied with manual or bothers checking fluid and oil levels, eventually, issues come about. it's my opinion that reading comprehension today is sadly lacking.
