Tractors and wood! Show your pics

I'm impressed with the squareness of the result. I wonder if that quality remains consistent down the entire length. I'm sure working on a quality surface with good sawpigs makes for a better job. I would think that jig is a bit flimsy for holding square. That where the sharp chain comes...

Yesterday, I cut down another 100 foot tall hemlock. Well, it taped at 97 feet, but the top 20 feet broke up in impact so, call it 100" ;-) 18-20" abh. Too much for the 18" saw blade to do in one bite at the butt (24"). But it fell "Right on the pin!" (Patting my own back! I haven't...

    Mushrooms from the garden

curious, there were seen today a pair of "different" fungi popping up in the garden beds. A shiny black pointy cap, with a perforated stem. Morel like. The stem, not the cap! I can not find any direct image comparisons via internet search returns. I'm not even going to touch them! I...

RS1400 Tiller. Where do I buy the wheel bearing for a tailwheel?

    Motor Question

On consideration, Leakage in a motor, from it's energized windings into the motor frame can come from where? Induction? Failed insulation? Can you change the VFD carrier frequency to see if that leakage number comes down?

    Motor Question

I am running no fewer than 5 VFDs in my shop to power lathes, mills, grinders, and press drills. I have NEVER even considered checking for leakage. And I keep them powered 24/7 365 to keep the caps up to snuff. Think of the $$$ I've wasted!

One very important aspect is ventilation! IIRC a "comfortable minimum air turnover" is several complete exchanges PER HOUR. Typical houses BREATHE, and if they don't (super insulated, and underground etc) the air and spaces are just not comfortable. We sweat a lot! Cooking, plants, pets...

I have to ask, how does an engine that starts and runs on "direct injection" of gasoline have a valve problem? I find it VERY difficult to blame the valve lash for an engine that starts. If it ran for long enough time to heat the valves, lengthening the stems, that would be different.
