One thing that made it a pain was the turnbuckles, or whatever they are called had painted threads that made turning them diiffcult. So I unthreaded them then greased them up and threaded them all the way to the top. Now they turn with ease.

It was my second time hooking it up iirc. The shaft lined right up first try. The first time I did it took a long time, and almost lost my salvation on that one.

Got my bush mower hooked up in record time. Like 10 minutes total. That's a record for me.

Looking at that starter, and knowing how it is located on the block, looks like it should be easy to get to the nuts and tighten them down if they are loose.

Just got inside. After tapping starter with hammer while my wife turned the key, it started right up. Ground cable is clean, took it off anyhow, filed it a bit, plus the frame, still did nothing. Reminds me of my 77 Ford Supercab, had to hit the starter on it too. Needs new starter, solenoid?

So tonight after work I got in the tractor, and she fired right up, so I ran the brush hog for about an hour before work called. I went out to run it again, and again, it won't start, only clicks.

Gotcha. Mine has a knob that you turn to the right to engage, to the left to disengage, and it pops up higher thanwhen engaged. I can hear it click at the PTO in both position, so it seems to be working.

I did notice that prior to this the battery indicator showed it was in the 14 volt range. I don't recall if this was when it was running, or when it was simply reading that when the key was in the on position before I started it. Now when the key is in the on position it is reading around 12.4...

There it is, saw a video a while back of someone mowing a football field with it.

I saw a zero-turn and iirc it had a 104" cut. It would cut a football field in 10 minutes. 30K iirc. But...why? One would have to have some accounts that would justify dedicating that much money to a unit that does one thing.

I weld, but I'm not sure how much it would cost to have someone weld it. Do you have any nearby farmers/neighbors who you can ask to fix it, or show you how? Or perhaps look into what the part costs to replace, then look at what one wants to fix it, then decide. Just guessing, but say maybe...

There is no standing to reach this one, it's buried, and almost impossible to see. You have to crouch down to try and find it, it's ridiculous.

Thanks for the response. One thing I don't like about the MT242H is the engine oil dipstick. It is in a bad spot, and is hard to find and utilize. I'll probably start a thread on things I like and don't like but need more time on the tractor to do so effectively.

Sort of. With the zero % financing it made sense and was able to get a 12K 22' trailer as well under that zero %.

Looks like a 3PH ballast box is a cheaper way to go, plus liquid filled tires.

They've already contacted me. There is a dealer about 2.5 hours away from me. I'm thinking methanol or rimguard. Rimguard dealer is an hour away, if they still do it. About to call them. Do you know what bioguard is made of?
