    Glulam Beam - Checking Problem

A beam will have differnet compression/tension points depending on where the load is. You can't unphysics that. The beam will act very different depending on if the load is on the center or the two sides. In a very basic sense, without any concern given to loading, yes...tension on the...

Besides, I don't like that anatomy figure. They act like a gluelam has seperate areas of function. It's one big beam that is all glued under pressure. It acts like one piece of wood. There are no slipper plates to divide the beam into different areas of forces. I get over-simplication for...

    Glulam Beam - Checking Problem

It's the desert, it will dry out wood. I think it's fine. Wood is not a man made material and it will crack by design. It dosen't mean it looses it's strenght. Gluelams get their strength from the mismatched wood grains stacked side by side. Plus the wood is in compression, not tension...

The hidden increases are steeped in delivery costs. Our rates in Wyoming have stayed stable, but the delivery costs have more than doubled. Guess what part of the bill the utility commission doesn't have statutory guidance on?

No that's not the reason. Light sweet crude doesn't have the same hydrocarbons heavy crude does. Light sweet crude is preferred in other parts of the world for it's ability to easily turn into diesel and other lightly refined fuels. Third world countries don't have to spend Billions on...

Keep current truck forever or try to afford a new one every 5-10 years?

I wouldn't say it was a tough time, that period chiseled ford into what it is today for their diesel program. If they didn't go through that period of International/Navistar...they wouldn't have a purpose built, in house produced motor that is strong and reliable. They don't have to pay and...

It's more like I'm riding the misinformation out. I will concede, the early 6.0 had issues, and there were some nagging quirks on the later ones too. However, there is a Ford OEM part fix for each issue. Then if you under stand the root cause of the issues, changing coolant regularly fixes...

I believe Ford uses profits from their financing arm to provide the cash flow to finance the parts orders to build the cars and trucks. It would have to come up with another revenue source to finance the floorplan. If they just get rid of dealers, they wouldn't have to finance a floor plan.
  133. Snobdds

That's not due to floorplan financing costs increasing. OEM's are having to lower prices because car financing has increased. If they kept their prices high with the high financing costs, they wouldn't sell anything. Their demand is falling, so in order to keep high demand, their prices have...
