I prefer using check chains on equipment when I can, it assures the implement remains at the set height I want and, not that it makes any difference, it takes the weight off the hydraulic system. Plus I have older tractors that the hydraulics tend to leak off just a little.

When I bought my new ExMark Lazer Z it was with the AT101's installed, wanted no part of the ice skate turf tires. Every place I mow is a slope of some kind and the AT101's hold well and as long as I don't act stupid they do not mark up the turf any worse than turf tires.

If you do not remove the dust first you will scratch the paint. If it is simply dust, dust then a car duster can be used to take it off before you wax. You may still get some scratching but not like you would if you did not wipe it off.

Pull a plug wire when it starts to act up and see if the spark is blue or yellow. When you put the new coil on did you put the resistor back in line? A 48 8N has the front mount distributor and it must have the resistor to keep from cooking the coil. Acting up when hot sounds like coil.

A 2N with the front mount distributor is not going to be out of time, with spark and fuel it should at least try to start. I would start by checking the compression and that the air cleaner is not blocked.

The 8N my not have all the bells and whistles of newer machines but they are still a reliable worker.

Low compression on #2 could be valves, burnt or sticking but your compression is low on all cylinders. I believe a complete R&R of your engine is in your future.

Nothing to be done as long as there is oil in the pan the pump will put oil to the turbo, my only concern would be have the turbo bearings been starved for oil and/or has the oil oil coked in the bearings that could make replacing the turbo cost as much as you paid for the car.

I second the corn head grease or 00 as it is also called, it is all I use in my gear boxes new or old (mostly old). Bottom line is they just simple gear boxes that will be happy as long as there is lubricant in them, don't over think it.

Mowing a bumpy field with a ZT will make you miserable, the bigger tires of your tractor will smooth out and make the ride better than the 26" tires normally found on ZT's. I KNOW!!! I have used both, my neck and spine are fused... so I know about pain involved from using each.

Your manual should have a procedure to adjust the slip clutch, it usually consists of measuring the length of the springs.

Clutch disc is rusted to the flywheel, common problem. Pull or push start it in gear and holding the clutch down drive it around putting stress on it any way you can. Making hard turns I have heard has helped some people, just remember to ALWAYS keep the clutch pedal down as you drive it around...
