    GC1705 Intermittent Gage Issue

I went and checked and all 6 screws were not tight! Each took about 1/4 turn. Started and everything seems fine. Can't thank you enough. I wrongly assumed that they were tight and it was something else. You saved me a big spend for a replacement instrument cluster. Thanks!

    GC1705 Intermittent Gage Issue

Well, I went out this morning and started it up. Thought "why not?" and gave the cluster a good whack. They both started working! So, the low tech approach got results.

    GC1705 Intermittent Gage Issue

Your secret is safe. I'll give it a smack to see if anything works but have a feeling it may get expensive..

    GC1705 Intermittent Gage Issue

That might be painful. I will figure out the PN and call the dealer. Finding no wiring issues, I'm starting to wonder if the dash module is bad.

    GC1705 Intermittent Gage Issue

The connection for the temp has the black ground wire. I pulled and found no corrosion and the connector showed marks from sliding over the gage pins. So, took an OHM meter and checked continuity from that wire to the negative on the. battery and it showed 0. I'm not an electrical person, but...

What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

Dave, Appreciate the information. If I cant find a ground issue, will look at sensors. But, I will check the connection on the sensor while checking the other ground. Thanks,

    GC1705 Intermittent Gage Issue

I will work on it today and check this out. In my early days, I used to wash the tractor after each use. Probably not a good idea for long term electrical issues. I will report what I find. Thanks,

    GC1705 Intermittent Gage Issue

I have a 2019 GC1705, great tractor. Have one issue I haven't been able to figure out. First started with the temp gage not moving when running. It would sometimes work, then not. Then, the fuel gage did the same thing. Now, both have stopped working. Unit never runs hot and has plenty of...

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

Yeh, so not being an electrical person really made this a fun experience! Picking up some wiring and will be replacing the damaged connections in the next couple of days. Love when the documentation is wrong.

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

Think I have figured out what the issue is. First, the manual is wrong. The description (image) of the fuses do not match the wiring diagram. Go figure. So, there is a feed (green wire) off the fuse that keeps blowing. The right side running and turn signal rear work fine. When I...

Appreciate the responses, gives me more to go on. Will see what I can find in the morning. I'm glad you mentioned manual errors, I found a couple that had me a bit confused.

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

Yes, position #8. I think it's related to that work light wire on the back of the tractor. I'm going to pull into garage tomorrow and go through it carefully. Not being an electrical person, gut tells me a wire rubbed through and shorting as it blows as soon as I turn the key on. Will post...

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

Thought I would post a picture of the bottom of the fuse block. The fuse that keeps blowing as soon as the key is turned is the one with the green wire to it. No wire on the second side. I don't understand how a fuse can work with only one wire to it. You can see there is the fuse in front of...

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

Pulled the main ground cable off and inspected. No corrosion, but the copper was a bit discolored. Wire brushed and reinstalled. Unfortunately, fuse still blows immediately when I turn on the key. I think there is another stub circuit at the back I am going to look at, just in case it has a...

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

You know, as soon as I saw your post I thought “ why didn’t I do that when I was working on it today?” Will definitely do that tomorrow and post my results. Appreciate your help!

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

Well, had time to work on this issue today. Understand, I'm not an electrical guy so you may not be impressed with my troubleshooting skills. 1. Disconnected extra connections and had the tractor back to original. Extras are just aux lights and 12v power at the rear to power a sprayer. All on...

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

Really appreciate your response! I will pick up a headlight tomorrow and see if I can find the issue. Called the dealer and told him what was going on. He said it is probably a corroded connection and the gage clusters going bad is not a problem in his experience. Replacing it would cost a...

GC1705 Fuel & Temp Gage Issue

I have a GC1705 that is a great unit. A couple of months ago, the temp gage would stop and start working. I thought I had it fixed, finding some corrosion on the temp sensor. Worked for a month or so after. In the last week the fuel gage and temp gage stopped working. Find the 10A fuse...

    GC1705 Mid Mount Mower Noise

Well, spent quality time going over every piece of the deck today. Rechecked all bolts, brackets, covers, etc. Looked for interference or rubbing. Took tension off the belt and think I found what the issue is. The nut on the inside of the bracket that locks the adjustment screw/bolt was backed...

    GC1705 Mid Mount Mower Noise

I have a 2018/2019 GC1705 with the 54" mid mount mower deck. For a tractor, it does a nice job of mowing. Nothing out of line, even cuts. My issue is a strange buzzing/screaching noise that happens occasionally. It is loud enough to catch attention of others outside my yard. It has occurred...

    GC1705 Adding LED Lights

Finally got the lights done. Waited forever for the light brackets due to supplier issues. Sorry for the long time lapse in getting this posted. I ran the wiring in flex, following the factory wiring as closely as possible under the tractor. Drilled two 3/4" holes in the ROPS on the bottom...

    Traction  GC1705 Safe Working Angle

Starting to use my new tractor and love what I have been able to do. My question: working for the past couple of days cleaning out trees and debris from an area between my neighbors home and mine. Got into a couple of pulls that I didn稚 feel comfortable. Had to use the differential lock and 4...

    GC1705 Adding LED Lights

Want to add some LED lights for front and back lighting to my tractor. Since I知 no electrician, need some suggestions. Uses: mowing, loader work snow plowing next winter. Is there a watt or amp limit I should stay within? Should I connect direct to the battery or use the pigtail connector...

    3-Point Hitch  GC1705 - 3 Point Height

Purchased my GC1705 with loader and 54 deck, cannot be much more excited. I bought a 3 point receiver adapter that is great. It mounted with no issues. My question: how far down will the 3 point go? Is it limited by having the mower deck attached? Mine will only drop to about a 35 degree...
